About Time ;)

I’m always enjoying the gradual lengthening of days until BAM! Daylight Savings Time! I hate it.

So, if we stayed on standard time all year long (times are approximate) in June the sunrise is 5am and sunset is 10pm and in December the sun rises at 8am and sets at 5pm.
For Daylight Savings Time in June the sunrise is 6am and sunset at 9pm and in December the sunrise is 9am and sunset at 6pm.
I think I would rather stay on standard time.

I heard it was because of the Farmers! The farmers follow the Sun not the clock!Farmer pitchfork.jpg

I would rather stay on standard time mainly because because that make TSP cut off 1000 instead of 0900 here.

And, fwiw, today was the vernal equinox at my house at about 1237.

Permanent daylight saving time? America tried it before ... and it didn't go well
Celina Tebor, USA TODAY

48 years ago, the U.S. tried the same thing – and public opinion of the change quickly deteriorated, leading lawmakers to rapidly reverse course. The U.S. is set up for a similar rude awakening if it makes daylight saving time permanent, according to David Prerau, an expert and author on DST.

People that will complain about a permanent DST change are the same people that complain about changing the the clock twice a year.

Pretty funny!

I'll probably complain at some point in either the summer or winter, but please, pick one and just let me know. I'm down with not having to change the clock..

Yes. Most disappointing. I read an article that said most Americans want to pick one and stop the change, yet it persists.

Looks like that legislation didn't go anywhere

I don't care which one they go with, they can meet half way & split the difference but I am all for not changing clocks even though most electronics update automatically it does keep you off balance with the change twice a year.

My service in the military taught me to acclimate to time changes, shift changes, all changes. Now in retirement, I enjoy and savior my mundane predictable routine and detest those time changes they really screw with my Zen.
