Hello All!!! I just retired 12/31/2011 after 37 years of government service. I have been a frequent visitor to TSPTalk lurking in the background learning from you all. I thoroughly enjoy the daily market analysis, the shared articles/videos and the humor! I personally have a strong interest in Technical Analysis and have learned alot from reading these daily posts. I am open to any and all suggestions/references to further my TA education! I don't know how much I will be posting on this site as my knowledge in investing is limited. Hell, I just opened a FB account on the behest of my children and my siblings!!! So if you see a shadow behind you...know that it is probably me trying to learn from some very talented, proficient and succesful traders on this board!!! I share in everyone's common goal on this site to build our retirement accounts so we can live/have an enjoyable retirement!!! Thanks to all who have contributed to this site!!!

Thank You all for the warm welcome, especially to Bquat and nnutt for the TA and market analysis references!!! A2Z is fine. I have a long Polish last name. Over the years coworkers began calling me A-thru-Z, since my last name contained app 1/2 of the alphabet!!! Eventually it was refined to A2Z!!! The 1112 was my credential #. I am in for some real trouble if this site is patrolled by the grammer, spelling and/or punctuation POLICE!!!! WOW!!! SPN46er's has hit the ground running! Where did u get your TA education???

Welcome to the board! Wish I was close to retirement still have about 25+ years to go. :notrust: Unfortunately, TA isn't taught in any schools but it can be learned by researching around the internet. There are lots of videos on youtube that deal with TA and there are other sites which talk about patterns and formations. Once you have that down you just start looking at different timeframes and looking for any telling trends or patterns for the charts you are interested in. I still have lots of learning to do by the way!

Was looking at a chart of the VIX. Appears the VIX is in a falling wedge pattern which is a bullish pattern. IMHO, Looks like the breakout window will come within the next week to 10 days??? When the VIX does breakout (upward) the equity markets should fall thereby giving us an entry point? I am currently in G and awaiting a pullback to enter the stock funds. Am also new to this TA stuff, trying to learn!!! Any and all comments welcome!!!

Thanks for the VIX chart! A lot of people on this board reference it as an indicator, but few people post its charts. Could be very helpful in picking entry/exit points.

Who knows... I guess only time will tell. This is probably just a quick break out and the buyers will buy this dip and then we head to the Moon!!!
