Sell in May and go away is a good strategy. Stocks tend to go down in the Summer months due to summer vacations. I wouldn't put much faith in the 7th year of decade strategy. I can see no logical basis why stocks would go up or down on any particular year except for the presidential cycle.

Do you see any logical reason why the market does anything? You can hold your reply until after 2:15 today if you'd like.:toung::nuts:

How does this EAFE that is +.33% play into the EFA that is tracked? Or is this just more outside information?

The MSCI EAFE index is the actual international-equities index the I-fund tracks. It gets its final daily value around 11:30 am EDT, and is reported by MSCI Barra around 2pm EDT every day.

However, the EFA is a US-market index, if I recall correctly.

So do we see a pop in the I fund today with FV or do we see it tomorrow? Or do we get a little lift both days?

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts in a day or two, after it has a chance to digest the implications of the Fed's aggressive move today.

FV today, they might take it back at a later date with a -FV. I would think they may do that tomorrow.

And of course the rally must remain high enough to be at least >.50% above the level at 11:30 this morning to qualify for a +FV.

Compounded by a sharp decline in the USD

Hmmm..Does Barclay's take the dollar into account when calculating a fv? Otherwise, I'd think that bodes ill for the I-fund tomorrow if the dollar makes up for its losses this afternoon.

Declining $ is GOOD for the "I" fund, it will add to a +FV. Dollar index (-.69%) right now, congratulations!!:D
