I know, this is just some bureaucrats Idea on how to get rid of farm subsidies ,,,,Right???

I'd rather have the cash in my pocket than the deduction, thanks anyway. And, there is little correlation between dollars spent and quality of education. Case in point; the District of Columbia spends more per capita on education than nearly anywhere else in the country, yet continue to score at the bottom year after year.
if we get one thomas edison out of there it will be worth it---i have sent my son to a private school for six years and now he is in a public school and never complain about paying school taxes, it is our future that we must take care of, remember one thomas edison goes a long way

If the builder would knock off $75,000 you'd have some value. They got big profit margins being made on our friends labor from Mexico. Let these big builders squirm a little, they'll come around like Hovnanian did. Don't buy until their pupils get really big. Then they'll give you a VW.
I agree. Builder's used to be satisfied w/making $100,000 per year. Now they want millions. The houses are built by illegals, not professionals. My neighbor house had the cabinets glued onto the drywall, not nailed, screwed in, etc. Yet he was charged at joruneyman rates.:(

Interesting... I believe Edison was home schooled, wasn't he? :)

Check out Consumer Reports back page. The list product that keep the price the same but make the item smaller so that you don't see the inflation. It has been happening for over a year.

Shrink the product keep the price the same. What inflation??? Harder to do with a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas.

They've been saying for years that we need to reduce our portion sizes.

Of course, this steal inflation doesn't seem to have hit the fast food industry, yet. Would you like that suprsized?

I bought a box of Ding Dongs (my guilty pleasure:cheesy:) from target. When I got home and opened the box of 12, there was only 11 in the box. Just another way to hide inflation ('opps,' says the company rep in an innocent tone,'the packaging machine made a mistake...'). I have seen this lack of quality control more and more lately. Calculated or just apathy?:(

Phone companies are notorious for this. Look closely at your next bill and see if there isn't some call you didn't make or charge you shouldn't have incurred. If you call them on it, they'll "fix" it, but they count on millions of people to either not notice or figure that it's not worth the hassle for a few cents (or dollars). Really it's not, except as a matter of principle and to keep the process in check. Companies are literally nickle and diming people to death, counting on the fact that most of them will either not notice or feel it's not worth the (intentional) hassle to recoup that few cents (or dollars). Those little overcharges times millions are big bucks for these companies.

It's the same when the phone service adds some new service for a few dollars (supposedly if you read the fine print on your statement 6 months ago you'd know that your non-response implied consent).

What was the packaging machs name,, Josa (sp) ?

Check your doctor bills too.

I think they are also guilty of trying to push through bogus charges, just to see if they can get away with it.

Check your TSP account, so that they don't try to sneak in IFT fees too... oops sorry, wrong thread

I don't doubt this for a second, but there are a lot more eyes fixed on those billers, so "Ooops, my bad" doesn't hold up so easily.

OK, watch the FTSE tomorrow. Look for bargian hunters scoop up banks shares. CAC and DAX also oversold. IMO, we are heading into a recession and the FED cannot stop it. We are in the early stages of the set-up. Still more gains to come, but looking for some serious pullback 2008. Remember real estate sales are very bad and now we have the winter coming. The inventory will truly build up. Oil heating season is also here and oil prices are creeping higher. http://www.247wallst.com/2007/09/t-boone-pickens.html When you have Alan Greenspan defending himself, you know it coming.....Everyone who says everything is ok are nuts.
