I pose this question here too, Maybe a +FV day in the works after fed speak @ 11am , might be a good day to xfer to c or s fund??
any comments??

Ok mr 350 how much more must market go up before we get +fv that i was hoping for !!
Thxs in advance!!

Not close. The Dow needs to be at 210+ before a +FV will kick in. Remember, the I fund closed up 34 cents. The other funds are still lagging.

hey 350 or anyone , the sp 500 close is .054% higher than at 11:30am

I thought you said +-.05% was what we needed for fair value.
How did you come up with the number of 210 on dow and have you figured out what they might use to add the FV, (IE dow sp or efa )difference between 11:30 am and close .I think we are close to the fair value area!!
I appreciate the comments

Lately, they have been using either the Dow or the EFA. So, no +FV today. There was a time when they used the S&P.

What happened to the "five finger rule" (or something like that) for determining whether an FV would be applied? I think it was Ebb that used that rule, though I never understood what he was talking about. It was easier for me to crunch actual numbers.

Hand rule is a no also.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and put your mouse over the EFA graph. Place the thumb on the 11:30 position. If the end of the graph (4PM) is above the index finger (you have to interpolate) then you have +FV. If not, then no FV.

that is not always the case with Barclay

G 12.11 even
F 11.61 -.03 -0.26%
C 16.49 +.22 +1.35%
S 19.78 +.25 +1.28%
I 23.72 +.34 +1.45%

Barclays were quick to posting the price and most of the time that means no FV. :)

Ahhh! I finally get it. All this time I thought it referenced somebody's actual hand.:embarrest:
Still, it must be dependent on monitor resolution and settings, because according to this rule at 1680 x 1050 resolution, there was 2-3 X's enough change for an FV.
