Looks like we're pretty much all having a bad time with our calls this week. :(
I am down 3.30% this week thus far. Markets can easily come back. This was a pure shakeout and shorts are all over the place now. The OSMs are a bargain at these levels. The Fed. will make a statement somewhere, trust me on this one, to ease this panic. They know they have to. So watch for some Fed. member at some dinner party to tame the pressure very soon. They do not want to risk a recession. That would kill everything.

BTW, I'm back from OKC.

Great! I'm happy you're back.

I haven't been able to post the estimates this week because there's been a crack-down on personal Internet usage at work. Big brother is watching and I don't need the hassle or the trouble. I gotta' lay low for awhile and tow the company line. :suspicious:

Wish I'd taken my marbles home last week! Well, how far down is this thing gonna go? I've lost to much to jump out now.

Yup, shorts are everywhere. The markets should bounce on that alone. Also, the major indexes are resting on or just above their 50 DMAs'. So technically, we should see a bounce tomorrow. If there's a bounce, we should look for signs that it's not a dead cat bounce. i.e. yields not dropping, Europeans not following, Yen not falling, etc...

It's early, but the Yen is now falling. That's a good sign. If the trend continues, we will definitely get a bounce tomorrow.

Comm,

Where do you get your yen data form? Glad your back. How was Oak City? Been there twice. Once for spring time storms and the second, for winter's ice storms. They still have the Red Dog for lunch?

I get my currency data from fxstreet.com. It's in real time and it's free.

The only good thing about OKC during this trip was the weather. No big storms or floods. As for the Red Dog, I can't answer that because I'm married. But I've heard that it's over rated.:D

For what it's worth I work with some investment clubs and here is what they think (free of charge to me) - this one group has had good success in the past but use at your own discretion and risk if you so chose:

The market has gone from being very overbought to now becoming very oversold. All three major averages are at or nearing their 50 Day EMA's which are 13175 (Dow), 2541 (Nasdaq) and 1490 (S&P 500). I would expect we will see at least a minor oversold bounce develop near their 50 Day EMA's for a day or two beginning either tomorrow or next Monday.

Thus we have a rather strong Buy Signal for Friday in the DIA's, QQQQ's and SPY's. I would set my initial entry prices on Friday 10 cents below Thursday's closing prices which were 132.53 (DIA), 46.34 (QQQQ) and 149.10 (SPY). If by chance the market opens lower than the entry prices then adjust your entry price to the lower value if you have the opportunity to do so.

Meanwhile for those that are following the Oil Service Holders (OIH) there is a strong Buy Signal in them as well. I would set my initial entry price at 167.06 or if they gap lower at the open at the lower price.

For those with a 401K/TSP Account I would place some money in a Fund that tracks the S&P 500. Remember for those with a Government TSP Account changes have to be made before 12 PM EDT in order to get the closing prices for Friday.
