Perhaps I'm missing something here but can someone give me any reasonable rationale as to why there was no -FV today?? I was in the I fund as of today but I can't grasp the logic or lack thereof of what rules or parameters are applied to its use.

It would appears that they are not using any logic or parameters at the moment.

Because of our 12 est deadline, I personally believe that there should not be a need for a FV of any kind. If our deadline was 3:30 est than yes, there would be a need for it.

Can someone explain this to me ? The EAFE was not impressive today, all of the OSM's were down today/yesterday/last night, how the heck can the "I" gain .06 ?

I have been 100% I Fund from last Friday, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth.:) +.06 is fine with me.

My biggest concern with being in the I Fund overnight is that when, not if the Hang Seng tumbles. This will spread throughout the OSMs and the US markets. However;I think it will be worse than Feb. That is the gamble of being fully invested in the I Fund overnight. Hang Seng is extremely overvalued and it reminds me of the NASDAQ in March 2000. It could easily tumble 1000 points or more with panic and mania. Remember the Tulip story? Look at the chart.....http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=^HSI&t=1y&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=...now look at the late 90s with the QQQQs......http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=QQQQ&t=my......Time to be careful.....also that Goldman Sach's statement , will kick in, like I said last week, it takes time, but it will happen!!

At 10:20 EST: +.314% or 8 cents (using TSPLookup)

bloomberg.com has it as -.243% so... there's a difference of opinion.

12%, for future reference, right-click on the link above and choose 'copy shortcut' and go to your Desktop and do a right-click again and 'paste' the shortcut. :)

this is correct? ty

Jayhawker, it can't be +.314% or 8 cents, I got it at -.05 cents also (same as Bloomberg's). :(

Yeah... I see that. The website where TSPLookup gets the currency quotes (ino.com) is not available right now. TSPLookup is showing currency quotes from yesterday at 4:16 PM EST.

Pretty much, 12%. Dollar is up and taking out about -.05 cents from the I-fund as it is. If you add Europe to that, well...:(

still early. markets recover this afternoon, maybe we will get a +fv....

Greed by manipulation perhaps?
The FV money has to come from somewhere. A –FV would add to this mysterious fund, while a +FV would subtract from it.
A simple program would calculate the percentage of IFT shares to or from the I fund.
If a high percentage is transferred in, then a –FV or no FV (from a large drop) would benefit this mystery fund (like yesterday).
If a high percentage is transferred out, then a +FV or no FV (from a large gain) would also benefit this mystery fund.
With all of the IFTs there must be a gain or loss in the FV mystery fund.
The only way it could remain constant/fair, is if the number of shares were always the same, and that is just not possible.

I agree, Barclay's should scrap the FV.
If not, there should be disclosure or accountability of some kind.
:suspicious:

12%, this is from Bloomberg that Jayhawk posted a while back. It gives estimate of the I-fund from 3:00 AM to 12:30 PM EST every minute, albeit with 10 minutes delay.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/quote?ticker=EFD:IND

As of right now, it says -.220% or -.05 cents.

I don't know if it is highly correlated. It closed up .77% for the day yesterday on Bloomberg. That didn't exactly correlate to the I return yesterday.
