Look at the last 2 major bottoms in USD/YEN - mid May 06, then early Dec 06 - then follow the slow upward climb -- you are looking at the carry trade in action. We are coming off a similar bottom early this month (Mar). If this action is at all similar to the last 2, we are OK for several weeks!:nuts:

As long as USD/YEN and EUR/YEN are slowly trending up, this means that YEN is expatriating and driving prices higher here in the US and in EUR.

In the last few days as long as the YEN held above ~116.80 the upward action was expected.

Many of the Gurus here have pointed out that trend change in the USD/YEN foreshadows trend changes in equities. Now that I've seen it, I believe it.
The Feb 26 drop in equities was seen in USD/YEN many days before.

I've got the same thing as jayhawker.

Wind Hunter, the spreadsheet doesn't account for movement in the dollar from 1 pm to close yesterday, only movement for today. I'd bet that's where your difference is. Dollar dropped big after 2 pm.
