This is not Homebanc. The ceo of CFC said housing leads us out of recession and it leads us into recession. I hope the global expansion overrides it this time. http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aKRiK9kzL1ZM&refer=home.

``Effective insolvency'' would result if creditors force Countrywide to sell assets at depressed prices or investors lose confidence in its ability to raise cash, Kenneth Bruce, a Merrill analyst in San Francisco, said in a research note today.
Shareholders shouldn't ``understate the importance of liquidity,'' Bruce wrote. ``If liquidations occur in a weak market, then it is possible for CFC to go bankrupt,'' said Bruce, who downgraded Countrywide to ``sell'' from ``buy.'' The company trades under the ticker CFC.

Like I've been saying. Fed injections or rate cuts will not make these problems go away. Sure, a rate cut will juice the market for a day or 2, but reality will eventually set in.

CFC is big. I would not want to be in the market when it's announced that they are going bankrupt, like AHM. Remember them?

Ebb,

Good job in catching today's huge -FV.:)

this break downward is very bad news. I think foreign funds will tank overnight.

I moved 100% "I" today, thinking that I'd catch the bounce up tomorrow. this last hour slide rules that out, in my book. We've got a lot more downside pressure coming.

This is going to be painful ahead.

If we're lucky, we'll get a -FV (-28 cents???) which will offset -1.2% tomorrow. We're in - we might as well hope for the best.

You would think the 10 yr would be rallying in this enviroment. Can't even make money in the F Fund. Why is this?

Foriegn pruchases were down again. China is slowly selling off US treasuries. I read about it this morning, but can't find the article.

This is great! Lost $2K, today I made $150.00~! WOW!
Not liking this very much. Hope something miraculous happens in the I fund tomorrow! :(

In all my years of trading, when you see everyone panicing and running to the door,It is time to step up. eg. March 2003

Yes, but we haven't seen real panic yet. The market is only 10% down from an all time high. What if CFC goes bankrupt and the market tanks another 10-15%? I don't see real support until S&P 1375, Feb-March low.

Amen, to that.

We need to see capitulation with high volume. And I think it will be to the downside.

Are we still in a war ? Geeze I never hear about that any more.

The banks F'd up Bigtime.

12,000 is coming.

I'm lovin these prices though.

what is the -fv tonight? anyone know? tia

My guess would be -.37 cents FV. Will that be enough to cushion us from the OSMs? We're having a fire sale, maybe people starts buying from here...one never knows.

wonder what % losses you have if you are 100 I fund the last month. (I know look at the tsp website - just saying it ain't purtty)

If they use the Dow, it could be -30 cents.

If they use the EFA, it could be -36 cents.

I'll take -37 and skip on down the road! :D

White, I got the I-fund at -3.91% and following the ebbchart would have us at +1.07% for the month. After today it could get uglier for the I-fund with the -FV. Let's hope for a rebound tomorrow.
