lol, everyone is panicing. Relax, this is what the markets needed. Pure shake-out. Now everyone will say 10% correction is coming and get left behind going to the sidelines. All these charts mean nothing. Going forward is looking much better..lower oil prices, FED will become dovish and cut. Perfect buying opp. I am feelinging more bullish now than ever.14000s will come faster than you think!!!

no, they did not include that..you are looking at a+.19 to the ending balance

I agree with you big picture, but I don't know the time scale to buy since the econ data the next few days looks only to add to the housing scare (new home sales due out tomorrow). What event/news/data do you forsee changing everything so quickly?

As I said, the figure given was from Bloomberg. I wouldn't assume that there will be a +FV given today's actions. Another -FV wouldn't be too surprising.

WHAT IS MEANT BY THE UNWINDING OF THE CARRY TRADE? AND DOES THIS ADD TO THE ARGUMENT THAT GLOBAL LIQUIDITY IS DRYING UP?

In short, traders get scared and sell their investments such as bonds, stocks, FX, etc... and repay the loan in Yen. The rising Yen causes fear because it cuts into their profits.

As I said, the figure given was from Bloomberg. I wouldn't assume that there will be a +FV given today's actions. Another -FV wouldn't be too surprising.

likely, but not a given. I believe the FV has been held over an additional day or two in the past, though I'm not positive.

Following everyone Monday into the I fund has really screwed me. So yesterday I got out 50% and moved it to C and S. The question now is sell the rest of I or just hold on to it?? Anyone? This close to retirement maybe I should just not follow anyone justing into anything 100%! It just seemed that knowledgable folks were all going in. LOL.

lol smine...same here. One adage that I've heard for years and easier said then done, is to find a 'system' or strategy that works for you and stick to it. Otherwise you get whipsawed using different strategies every week or month.

Right about that!! What a hit; still trying to regroup from May's losses. Trouble is it takes 100% bought at the right time to make up some of those losses.....Oh well, live and learn. Luck to all as I decide to stand or sell out. Wished I had a crystal ball!!
