You should never, ever, trust the Federal Reserve. They are not your friends. Never listen to what they say, only watch what they do. That way you will never get blind sided - always be prepared for any outcome.

I think he was talking about traders taking profits this afternoon due to their apprehension regarding the "bank borrowing" report that is due to be released after the close today. His thinking is that the afternoon profit taking could cause a -FV, not that the after-the-close report itself would affect the FV. Hope that explains it better. :)

Exactly, thank you.

I moved out of the "I" for tomorrow. I will risk the -FV but also welcome a +FV.

I know all the subprime mess is "factored" in already but, IMHO I beleive more bad news is really bad news and the markets will react the same. 200 - 300 point loss

Don't be surprised to see a+fv instead of a -fv this afternoon. At any rate, the Yanks are closing in on the BoSox. I live in Boston. I respect the Yanks because you can never count them out. Anyway, looking to leave the I Fund today.

Can you be a Sox fan and respect the Yankees ?

Creeping near a -FV, I think.

EAFE Final: +1.19% or +28 cents -15 cent FVC = +13 cents.

Try being a KC Royals fan. We don't even respect ourselves! :D

Can somebody do an estimate. Thanks.

IMO - I'm hoping to get out today with at least a gain. I think we have rallied pretty good in the last couple of days.

I think most things are pretty much priced in, Housing, Sub-Prime Problem, and even an Interest rate cut.

Probably a 50 basis point cut priced half in. I think be would see another couple hundred point gain if rates get cut, but I don't want to be in right now. Weekend is coming, I've done well this week, and I think we are going to get a pullback until we see a rate cut which I don't see coming at this moment.

I won't be surprised if they give us 15 cents! They've been known to give out a couple cents here and there after they've robbed us with a phantom FV. They might give it all back in the course of a month or two. :suspicious:

Yes, or they could decide to burn those who jumped into and out of the I-fund today again, and take a -fv for less than .5% change (unless things look up in the next hour or so, of course).

Too cynical?

A bit much, yes. :)

One hour to go ebb. I'll buy into your theory but I'd be more confident if the markets would end in the green or at least flat.

If there's an additional -FV today... I'm going ballistic. :worried:

G 12.08 even
F 11.45 even
C 16.37 -.02 -.12%
S 19.66 -.10 -.56%
I 23.44 +.13 +.56%

No extra cents from Barclay. When I said they were going to give us back the .15 cents they robbed from us in a month or two, it's more wishful thinking on my part. I really don't believe they'd do that, but I won't be surprised if they sprinkle the I-fund with a couple of cents here and there. :)
