COLA update

Updated 7/19/07) In June, the Consumer Price Index (CPI-W) rose to 607.374. After the fifth month of the six-month measuring period, and assuming the adjustment was made based on the June index point, the second COLA under the 2006-2010 National Agreement would be $728, which works out to $28.00 per pay period or 35 cents per hour. However, the adjustment will be made based on the July 2007 index and will be effective Sept. 1, 2007 (pay period 19-2007, pay date Sept. 21, 2007). APWU

Locking in any profits today and going to the sidelines. I sense a sell-off tomorrow. I have a feeling the markets will go over 14k today and spark a +fv this afternoon in the I Fund. Futures are flat this morning. Great sign for the day!! Went to the F Fund for safety.;) NASDAQ will open lower and explode to the upside today.

Wish I went to the S Fund for tomorrow. Talk about buying opp., this is what the markets needed before regrouping and go higher.BTW, I was death wrong today.

Don't care about today 12. I'm worried about tomorrow. People will smell fear tonight watching the evening news. Let's hope tomorrow is brighter than today.

BTW, nobody gets'um right all the time. You and Ebb are way ahead anyway. Keep up the good work. Though, your post last month about moving to the G for the rest of the year may have been right on! Saw a piece today on the seven year cycle. This fall looks ugly if the cycle holds.

I am very happy with my return for the year. I met my goal and then some. However;I try to treat every trading day as Jan.1st. You try to make as much as possible and take the good with the bad. Let's face it,everyone loses capital, part of doing business. I lost a tad over 2% since last week. Whoever got into the S Fund tomorrow will be happy IMO. This is what the markets needed, a bearish tone. Oil is falling, real estate is not moving, earnings are not great and the bottom-line is the FED has to start to become dovish and cut. This will boast the economy and the markets. Watch for a run this week. GL

The evening news will only further encourage the small investor to stay away - that's exactly what we want him to do. Let the small guy wait out his mortgage problems and not return to the stock market until three years from now. Countrywide says the bottom in real estate comes the end of 2009. That's great.

Yes, agree 100%. Countrywide is trying to pass on there bad business practices to the entire industry. The sky is falling and main street runs for the hills. This is great!!

Do not panic.I am willing to bet we rally today. This is a shakeout.Seen this many times before. Hold tight and it will come back.

PANIC,PANIC,PANIC.......I lost thus far in 2 weeks including today almost 3%. I am I worried. No, Why? The worst thing to do is panic and sideline. This will all play out to our benefit. My ending balance as of today give or take is the same as July 1st. Although,it sucks losing, it is part of the game and you must lose money before you make it. Part of trading which is not discussed is the losing part of it. Earning season has been bad, oil is dropping, stale real estate, lenders are tighting the funds. This tells me that the FED will cut rates very soon. SO, hang tough and remember what you started with. This is a only one game in a long season. Look at the Red Sox, they went on a losing streak but bounced back. The bottom-line is to end the year with a winning record. GL
