AIG is saved by the government, yeah! Uh, boy.

S&P futures up on the news. Dollar down. I guess it "had to been done" - from what I hear.

Tom:

where do you get the info for the $$? Yahoo doesn't seem to update it after hours. Good news about AIG, my project is totally funded through an insurance policy with AIG (environmental cleanup), and we have been scrambling here!!

Thanks,

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- In a stunning turn, the Federal Reserve Board is taking over crumbling insurer American International Group in an $85 billion rescue plan, officials announced Tuesday evening.
The Fed authorized the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to lend AIG (AIG, Fortune 500) up to $85 billion. In return, the federal government will receive a 79.9% stake in the company. http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/16/news/companies/AIG/index.htm?postversion=2008091620

Greenspan is the main reason why we are failing. He cut too deep and allowed money to become cheap. This made the US Dollar worthless and cause a Ponzi Scheme with the USA's real estate market. Our country is in tough shape now. China is owning more and more of the USA. Very sad. We whored ourselves into a corner. The next and final leg to fall will be the job market. However; this will pass.
