12%ayear's Account Talk

I believe after all is said and done..that will be the case..$$/x-fer:worried:

Hope it ain't crazy though

The TSP isn't a PRIVATE Brokerage Company and should not be conserned with PROFIT, just expenses. If their going to charge for IFTs the charges SHOULD be less than the LOWEST charges on the street.
They don't need to make a PROFIT!!!!
Think about it, I think $5 per trade, MAX!!

I would pay $20 a trade. Who cares in the grand scheme of things.

One thing I noticed in Ms. Ray's report is that they were really picking on the accounts of $250,000 and greater that were trading the I fund. The number was 323.

I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling from the Board. I spoke with Mr. Toro and Ms. Ray. She will not give a inch and she is the CFO.

I spoke to most of the ETAC and they are very receptive but they have limits as they are only a Council. They will address the lack of contact information about ETAC. Most do not know the detail and I have had to send them information to summarize.

IMO, the Board and the Council are living in the "ol days". We are a new generation of TSP participant and they are going to have to catch up to us.

We need to keep the pressure on!!!

$20, is that your MAX, or are you willing to pay the 2% they are talking about?
I've learned something from buying many used cars over the years. NEVER, NEVER offer the list price, start low and barter that's how things work. I'm NOT going to pay $20 if I can get it for $5, No Way!! I use to work selling cars, if a customer payed the list without trying to get the car for less, we just laughed at just how STUPID some people are. They are comparing the price from Scottrade etc. with the TSP. These guys are out to make a PROFIT and it drives the cost of the trades. Try and buy stock in the TSP, NONPROFIT Org. should be cheaper! Something is wrong with the TSP numbers, creative accounting, that's all!!:notrust:

I did not see that. They want 2% of what?...... IMO..TSP is our money and we should be able to do what we please with it. It is rather insulting to tell us how to behave with it. The way I look at it, once you are invested by the government, it should be all yours.

I'm curious. Is the board's retirement covered by tsp or do they get their retirement somewhere else?

Yes. In one of the ETAC minute Gary Amelio said he rolled all of his prior 401k plans into TSP and he plans to keep it there even after he goes back to private sector. All of the Board members are allow to do it also and Presidential appointees.

So let me get this straight. The board members are political appointees who support the republican agenda and will be gone and unaffected by this change if the presidency changes party. What about the etac. Are they political appointees?

What I am trying to get at is what would be the motivation for the board to take such a hard line. Could it be politically motivated and if so, who would be the most interested in helping us?

I don't know if this makes sense but I'm just trying to understand the player's motivations in this issue.

Also, Gary Amelio made this statement while a board member who is now somewhere else. He said it at a time when this issue did not exist and the tsp was the best deal. I take it none of the current board members made the same pledge and am betting that they will probably not participate in the tsp if the presidency changes party and their new employer has a better deal.

As I said, I am just trying to determine underlying motivations here.

We all need to participate in Show Me's PHONE LOVE project on Dec 17th. Also, don't expect any love from this Board. These are their ideas we're against and these people have tremendous egos and don't like anyone questioning their authority..but in the end they are just beauracrats...

Fight...fight...fight...

It's our one and only best chance..

I copied the e-mail address and sent Mr. Toro this note with the same test I had sent to AFGE union.

['Verdana','sans-serif']"Dear Mr. Toro,[/font]

Below, please read the text of a letter that I sent to AFGE, pleading for their help with the BOARD. Please understand that if push comes to shove, many of my peers would not mind paying a minimal and reasonable transaction fee in order to help TSP deal with some of the expenses. I urge you to consider this as a fair solution to this problem. Thank you.

The dang "Foreclosure" numbers just won't subside.....just when you get the Prez and Treasury getting ready to move some good news forward, the banks decide to throw some cold water on the fire...

Really makes you wonder..
