12%ayear's Account Talk

Any news on IBM's guidance? They had been trumpeting global growth in their B2B leading into earnings. I know the actual was right on the whisper but haven't heard anything on guidance -- which i guess is the name of the game right now going into the close for the year.

NASDAQ futures up +.68%,SP+.45%....look for a nice rally with the OSMs and USM tomorrow.

I think tommorrow will be a very good day. The situation with Turkey and Iraq is a potential downer but any look to stability there will be very helpful.

The EFA has dropped out of it's upward trend channel. Hopefully, it's only testing a low. Anyone see my Bull ? He went missing today ! Poooh !
:worried:

I'm not so sure EFA went outside of channel today - see chart from a week ago (courtesy of Divot's archive): http://tsptrader.blogspot.com/2007/10/investing-versus-speculation.html I'm sure your lost bull will find his way home when he's ready. I think I heard some saying they were heading south, but there's really no reason to go looking for 'em. Have a beer and relax.:D

Thanks Hessian, I'm always looking for my bull, even when he's charging right at me.
By the way, http://www.tsptalk.com/debrief/ will bring you a little closer to what I was saying.
The EFA closed at 82.96 well below the 83.80 green line. Updated for 10/15/07.
Anywho, I'm not the type to panic or bail (i don't drink either) but I will most certainly take your
advise and relax until the "Mrs." gives me another nudge over that never ending honey-do list.
Good Luck Tomarrow !

;)

It seems Asian markets were spooked by India whcih fell about 9%. BOE left rates alone for the time being. The I fund will have to become a 2 day hold here. IMO Nikkei rallies tonight from the last few down days. The I Fund is oversold and down 1.70% in 2 days. BTW looks like the BOSOX are sinking quickly. Bad move by having Wakefield pitch.

I Fund lagging today..up.47% pre-market. Looking for a 1 percent pop..Thursday. Asian markets are going to explode.

Agree on both counts. Hold the I fund and Beckett should have pitched last night! I'm a Rockies fan since 1993 (first year). Lived in Denver and got caught up with rockies fever. Just going to the world series is an amazing feeling!!!

some tech names are filling to the downside on the gap open, or are in that direction. Suprisingly GS is on a breakout above their 5-day resistance level on high volume. Probably a lot of profit taking on such a big gap up, which several of us called. 3-day cycle is calling for the highs to be made last, in the afternoon... don't know if that will happen, hope so.

As a TRIBE fan I'm glad we don't have to face Beckett 3 times. Hopefully, CC is over his postseason jitters and pitches like a Cy Young candidate. I want to see a pitcher's duel for once.

REDSOX should have played Dice on Game 2,Shilling on Game 3,Beckett on Game 4. Should haves don't count. Also Drew and Mirabelli are a waste at bat. Cleveland is the better team.

***DO NOT FORGET*** 2:00 PM.........Fed's Beige Book

Exactly, lots of shorts entering on the gap up on some favorite momentum names. If the market has a bullish feel going into the beige book, backwards facing data that is bad may be well accepted by investors as indications to future rate cuts. If there is bad info in there, which Ben eluded to a couple days ago, I think it give the indexes reason to be bought up now that there is positive earnings momentum and a bullish tilt vs the bearish one when he talked a couple days ago.
