12%ayear's Account Talk

Thanks Folks....this morning the futures are red, which is a great sign. After a day like yesterday many are cautious. Today at 8:30,the PPI gets released.Watch for the shorts cover and USMs to resume rally mode. Also, I went to the I for Monday based on OSMs recovering Sunday night plus Citibank reports. This will help out the markets IMO. Dollar will drop Monday.
S Fund the best performer today.. +.64% :)

NIKKEI is going to have a nice pop Sunday night along with OSMs in Europe. Citibank will fuel a nice pop with earnings because bad news in factored in.

Hi 12%,
After I posted question to Birch, I read you reply above, and it seemed almost as a confirmation for what I posed. So I'm curious, for your response too, re: coming earnings (as I've been a watcher and learner from you as well).

Q: Can't we expect, in general, that weak/poor/uncertain earnings are largely already factored in for what's coming out as Q3 market earnings? I'm trying to get some percentages of my account funds "in-place" for Q4, so this is why I have this question. I'm beginning to think that, while we should certainly still expect some surprises as Q4 begins, that most surprises would be on the upside (again, in general of course).

Given current volatility, I stiil have a good reserve in G, so I am expecting (and hoping) for a few "downside" surprises. Seeking your thoughts on my strategy? [tactics are adaptable].

Well, for the most part many are expecting bad numbers because of the sub-prime crisis. Which ia a good thing because the bar is set lower. Holidays sales are the tea leaves. The key is the guidance more than the results. I do have a feeling that we still have room to advance before a major pull-back. high 14000s is very possible this year with some minor potholes. Keep in mind that the markets are overdue for a losing year. We have not seen a red year since 2002. Also I think that the Chinese market is going to get spanked bigtime. 2008 will be the year for the US DOLLAR to rally back and OSMs to pullback. JUST MY 2 CENTS!!

Nice dull morning, this will hold well for a bounce. OSMs flat. I Fund is up a few pennies. IMO I Fund will be the fund of the day.

looking for some +fv this afternoon

Perfect set-up for some +fv this afternoon. I see the markets comeback. The USM will close a tad red, but the I Fund will close green. My 2 cents.

I hope you're right 'cause in 100% stocks now and didn't obey the 3-day cylce which was calling for today as the sell short day.

The spinning top dojis on many of the indexes last week is usually an ominous sign. Got a lot of hanging man doji's on big tech names as well. If today's retreat is bought up by the dip buyers and we don't stay above that 1553'ish area in the s&p we could put in a handle... that may be what the big boys want to get another rate cut at the end of the month. Today the sell short day of the three day cycle -- where the high is seen in the AM, and then the low is expected in the afternoon. Tomorrow is the buy day -- buys made in the afternoon off the afternoon low hoping for a gap up on Wednesday (the sell day).

So, the 3-day cycle seems to be in tune with the markets so far. I guess regarding tsp funds that would mean, defensive today, buy for tomorrow and Wednesday and getting out by COB Wed.

IMO..the I FUND will rebound and close green, but the S and C will close red. USM will close a tad on the red side. Tomorrow, I love the small-caps going into NASDAQ earnings.

This oil movement is fluff. They are looking for excuses to go higher. Plenty of oil/gas inventory. Warmer weather will increase the load. BTW ...watch I Fund close green today. Happy Halloween!!

You got the most outstanding prediction last week - but today is a different story. I fund typically follows the C pattern very close, so I think it will take a fairly good hit today.

still early...Last estimate was down .10 cents...IMO some MOMO will enter the market and DJIA cuts most of the losses. Bringing the I Fund into +fv.

Well it lokks like not enough time to bounce back today. However; on a postive note, it seems like there was no -fv. -.41% for the day not bad at all. Like I said the I Fund will be the best performer. lol...

It's cool man - I would wonder if you had some special power on this call.

Anyway I think the I Fund will out perform the others, at least that's what I'm hoping for - so will stay in place until it goes well under another 1 to 2% without a bounce back up.

Nope, I'm holding your feet to the fire on this one....You said GREEN....

Earnings reports even though they showed good, everyone bought it as bad! Another reversal on the good news is good, bad news is good.
