you mean you still have the same lotto goals as two years ago? you haven't crossed the italian love slave off your bucket list yet?

i like to reassess my goals every couple years or so just to make sure they're still age- and life-expectancy appropriate. which is why i'm accelerating my plans for the party bus.

with the last of the money i'm going to buy a half million dollar party bus, used, for $250k. then since i'm not married i'm going park it out back of the junior college gym after cheerleader tryouts and hire me a couple chauffeurs/cooks/nannies/bodyguards/personal assistants. and we'll drive around picking up hitchikers until i'm broke. then i'll limp the party bus on fumes with broken windows and ripped couch cushions back to my land and live in it until i figure out what to do with my life.

that's what i'm going to do when i hit the lotto.
 
I thought about this the other night when I bought a quick pick on the $253,000,000 Powerball. Had a plan to pay of all of the kids and deserving relatives, change my name and move to Cadiz Spain.
 
with the 4th $500k tranche i'm going to buy a 10 year annuity that will pay me a gov clerk $50k/yr salary for ten years. it would be like i still have a job but don't have to get up in the morning and go to work anymore. if i can't figure out how to capitalize on my god-given skills and talents in ten years then i deserve to burn in hell.
 
with the 3rd $500k tranche i would buy land, a half-section out on the lonesome prairie near the badlands. the same amount used buy 640 acres but after paying the school levy and gas into town a half mil don't go near as far as it used to.
 
with the 2nd $500k tranche i would prepay a safe deposit box at the local bank for a year. then i would take the leftover change and buy paper stocks and gold dubloons and investments and stuff, and put them in the safe deposit box with a handwritten note that says "if you are reading this you are broke, do not, repeat do not, squander the last of your birthright!"
 
the 1st $500k tranche i would split thusly:

$100k to my dad. he's 72 so he should be able to quit his counter help job and kick back on $1k per month in addition to social security for another 8 years or so. i hope he makes it that far.

$100k to my son so he doesn't have to borrow to go to school when he's 18. i hope he makes it that far.

$100k to the 1st church i see on the way home from the nightclub. i hope i make it that far.

and $200k for a lawyer to defend the 'he's my baby daddy' claims that will inevitably crawl out of the woodwork. easy come, easy go.
 
i've thought about this a lot, so the first thing i would do is revert to my 20% plan. i would diversify and immediately split it $500k 5 ways.

i'm not talking the $500 instant-win-pay-the-overdue-utility-bill-and-go-out-for-prime-rib-saturday-night-prize. nor the $200 million get-your-niece-hooked-on-heroin-and-die-face-down-with-your-pants-around-your-ankles-with-a-drink-in-your-hand-when-your-servants-invade-your-beach-bungalo-with-shotguns type of winner.

i mean what would you do with a modest sum? like $2.5 million cash clear after taxes?
