WorkFE's Account Talk

Re: ift

What about the F'ing F Funders?

Being a lazy L Funder, I get to drink on everyone's tab.

Congrats to all those in the C & S funds today. Here is hoping we don't give it back tomorrow. To those in the I fund, you're buying tonight.

Re: ift

Good day yesterday across the board. I suppose the I fund rallied on the Euro sharp rise against the dollar or could be the ECB's QE kicking in but I don't really know, or want to, how that works. I follow the heard when it comes to that fund.

My gut tells me to stay put for now and ride the waves. It's just money yall

Re: ift

50/50
great, i picked up .01 in the S but I'm 50% in the C for a net loss on the day of .48
Mudderflubber:laugh:

Re: ift

There has certainly been a few on the tracker, who I watch closely, moved to the sidelines.
This makes one pause on their decisions and maybe take a closer look. What makes this week anymore skeptical than last week. Could be they're comfortable with the first three months of gains and just taking a breath.
Either way it grabbed my attention and focus.

Re: ift

Last year's hero and can be this year's zero. When you swing for the fences you get home runs or strikeouts.

On mixed bag days like yesterday and today, lazy old me does pretty good in the L Funds. Been that way last week or so, L2050 coming in second place on several days. However, I am playing with REAL MONEY, not TSP Talk Play Money on the tracker and I can't contribute since 2010.

VIX is pretty low, if I had done well like some folks have, I might have kept something in the game rather than fleeing to G Fund. But, that's easy for me to say.

Re: ift

If we don't regain some losses today then staying in was a bad move.
Don't hold your breath on that happening, I'm in it for the butt whooping now.

Re: ift

The market takes and gives. Early indications are that today is a take. But it is Tuesday so futures mean nothing.

Re: ift

Hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday.
It is getting tough to hang in this market. Futures are headed south, here's hoping it don't fuel the fire.
Then again, maybe ya just buy the day.

Re: ift

My move Friday was a quick in and out. trouble logging in and busy this morning prevented me from updating my TSP TALK account. I am 100%G COB today.

Good luck all.

Re: ift

Yesterday was kind of a mixed bag. Good job I funders.
Futures down this morning but coming back to even for the open.

Blackrock, why does that name sound familiar, oh yeah, that's who manages the F, C, S and I funds of the TSP.

Reduce allocation to U.S. stocks: BlackRock

"LIKE"

guess thats the only way we can do this anymore.:suspicious:

This quote from your link was very interesting:

Lance Roberts, strategist at STA Wealth Management, a Houston-based independent wealth management and advisory firm, has been writing about the market’s march higher for months and refers to himself as a ‘fully invested bear’.

We stay fully invested in stocks — and that means 60% of our total assets — until we see our sell signals start flashing. We have four of those signals. At the moment, one of them is flashing red and we are just watching it closely. By the time two signals flash red, we will start reducing our stock allocation and by the time four signals go red, we go fully into cash,” Roberts said.

Roberts says the reason markets haven't seen a correction is because people are afraid of being out of stocks and so far every dip has been bought.
“Either the prices have to come to reality or the economy has to improve rapidly,” Roberts said.

In other words, Roberts expects a correction of some sorts. Stock prices could also oscillate and move sideways for an extended period, achieving a correction on a time basis.
