WorkFE's Account Talk

Re: ift

You have to admit, at least a little bit, 2008 is in the back of your head.

I was thinking about that today, remember all the times folks thought "this is the bottom" or "it can't go down much further from here?"

I recall a lot of those same comments uttered in 2011. I'm watching momentum for a reversal and I'm not getting in until I have confirmation of some sort.

Re: ift

This is where Bull Tinkle and Bear Scat head fakes will break you. Dead cat bounces that fall into a hole late afternoon or late afternoon rallies when your on the wrong side of the tracks. Oh, what a tangled market we weave.

The 1900 (debatable) area is still my target. We were here not long ago, had folks thinking correction and never got there, thus a lot mostly missed the opportunity.

Re: ift

Ordinary investors are still pulling money out of stocks years into the rally, fearful that another market disaster loomed. I prefer to go if I have to go with a buyout premium and that has happened several times this year. Otherwise I'm all in all the time - got that income stream to back me up.

Re: ift

This is exactly how the market is suppose to work. If you were conservative with your allocations you missed big drops in the market and are making slight gains. If you were aggressive in your allocation you got hammered and are now enjoying the fruits of your initial pain.
If you did a well timed move out and in, enjoy it.

Re: ift

And I'm paying.

Cheer up folks, 360 days left in 2015.

My initial instinct was for a down day today and rally tomorrow. Now, not so sure that is a wise move either. Will monitor todays action looking for any sense of where the market is heading. Oil appears to be heading alot lower so may add to the woes of market sentiment. If this downside momentum picks up...watch out below.

Re: ift

Could this be a stealthy correction eaten over time. We are roughly down 4.5% since the 52 week high on the DOW.

Stair stepping down, For how long and far? hmmm;)

Re: ift

I'm going to start nibbling on the frackers - EPE, TPLM, SGY, OAS, LPI, CPE, CWEI, SN, GDP, - I believe they are all still in business but the smell is, well you know, stinky, just the way I like them.

Re: ift

Don't get lazy now you wimp, push higher in the last 30 minutes just like the last 2 days when you pushed lower in the last 30 minutes. ;)

Re: ift

Futures on fire this morning. Could be we recapture most of the downside fleshed out in the first few days of the new year. However, days like yesterday can make you lose focus. Could we get back to the 18K level in the next few days, sure, but not without some resistance.

Dog Beers are earned, not given ;)
