WorkFE's Account Talk

It would be nice to go home thinking "You don't see that very often"
But unfortunately we do.
OH well, there is always tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day and the next day and the next day.

WOW. The buy in prices for C and I are awesome. Could they be halved again or is this close to the best opportunity we have seen in a long time.

Hopefully those that need their $ now or soon were in cash protection mode.

Having the government guarantee against loss to private investors who buy assets off troubled banks might get money off the sideline. The possibility that investors could be paying 50 cents for something worth 25 cents is what is keeping individual investors on the side.
There is no question we are in for a rough 2009. Most on the MB are in cash preservation, I should have followed your lead. I am an extreme optimist at my own expense.
I hope everyone has a great weekend

I know what you mean, my little expedition into the market cost me the last 2 months gains.:notrust:

C @ 8.94 is making me think it might be worth a long term play.

The thought of C @ $4.00 is keeping my finger off the trigger.

5 Minutes until witching hour.
In the last 30 minutes we could double todays gains easily. However as in the past we could also end in a down day.:suspicious:

Bernanke: Recovery will take years

I wonder if they just figured that out on their own or they've been reading our message board. What tools.

That is like saying don't worry there will be no interest rate increases for sometime going forward. That will eventually be very bullish, especially with no inflation. We are setting up for another four to five year bull market. We currently have surging liquidity, low interest rates, declining corporate bond yields, declining Ted spreds, low valuations, an increasing level of refi money in consumer pockets and there are huge amounts of cash on the sidelines. We need the VIX to continue dropping into the teens and for the dollar rally to end for awhile. The Chinese stock market is already up over 32% year to date.

SB, I do believe in miracles however I believe it is an eventuality. Unless someone can point to me a time in which the markets did not improve. If on the other hand that happens (It never has) my poorness will be as valuable as worthless dollars.
I am very comfortable with where I jumped in at. I could jump in and out (which I do on occasion) but that can be as deadly as staying put. Of course thats not to say that if you jumped in the (I)nterstate fund at 24 you should still be there. I would hope that they made good sound decisions before it halved.
You all are extremely financially motivating to me, I love it.
Hopefully we all won't be sharing a soup line together.

All this coming from someone who does not have any credibility to stand on at the moment.:o

Tomato Soup please, that Cream of Mushroom is giving me flashbacks !

No doubt, that and split pea.
To be honest though as I got older I became a soup lover. Does not mean I want that to be my last supper.

I can guarantee you that this post very much reflects my deeper convictions and I am listening and VERY MUCH appreciate your comment.

Yesterday I kind of let things get to me (earlier in the day) and decided today I would NOT GO DEEP and just take things really light.

So I grew up thinking The President is the most central and important job in the whole world. I whole heartedly believed that they were 'good people' with 'wonderful hearts' and that all the politicians were similar in their efforts to be united in making this world a better place.

Johnson and Nixon kind of soured my outlook - and I began to see things in a different light. As the years went on I guess the corruption and bickering and everything else seemed to take all the news. My current view is mainly a reflection - or a comparison from the previous Administration.

ANYWAY - I don't mean to sound like his wife and project a comment that many would regard as blantly insulting and downright ridiculous.

I think most politicians - and every President went in with good intentions and worthy ambitions and deserve our respect... WHEN I WAS IN THE SERVICE I WOULD HAVE GONE OUT OF MY WAY TO TAKE A BULLET FOR THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF - NO MATTER WHO IT WAS.

Well - lastly your last comment says it all - and that was the basis of my whole message. To be Anit BHO is to be Anti US President

Very well put... THANK YOU

Not a Problem SG, Now lets go get our D%&@ money.

KC,
You brought back some memories. I remember living as a Geo bachelor, my wife and I owned a home (125 year, 4000 SQ foot, 2 story victorian home in Buffalo, KY) I was stationed in Ft. Hood, my wife stayed at home. My unit would not allow me to live in the barracks. I could barely afford to live in the worst part of town and ramon noodles was a full course dinner. That was the last time other than deployments that we ever lived apart.
