WorkFE's Account Talk

The Big bad wolf is at the door, now what.
If I move to the G and we don't retrace I lose potential gains. If I stay where I'm at and we do revisit previous lows I lose already gotten gains. You would think the choice is simple.
You know what, we could actually end the day in the GREEN.

You all have a great trading day:)

You simply have to be able to absorb some pain - it won't hurt for long. All wounds heal over time. But then again you are blocking some lanes moving forward - perhaps a rest would be beneficial....

My ride is small, I am not blocking anything, all you have to do is power your way around me.
I parked under the shade of a birchtree once.

GM Execs selling out. Telling. I was considering another K shares. hmmm.
Lowest price in 76 years.

While still holding 2 IFT's for the month I could take these gains to the garage and come back out when the sun is shining. Today smells alot like yesterday. FLAT.
Might be best to sit tight until around 11:30 to make a decision. CH SS says sell. I will have to include that in my DP.

Same position.....same thought process.....Are these flast days leading to a new upward movement or downward movement...64K question

Decided risk was beginning to outweigh rewards. I am expecting a 3rd to half retracement of the last 2 and a half months gains. Hopefully this is not coming as a surprise to anyone there is just no solid footing to stand on and I don't feel like giving back more than I already have by COB.
100% G COB today.

M72, hows the new place working out?
With a little luck this thing won't retrace all the way back to Mar 9th. Either way at the end of the day I am still in the 10% bracket and I'm cool with that. I do not think we will sink below 800 but that is the area I'm looking at putting back in. That is of course this thing does not do a 180 in the next few days.

GL

OUCH. That was one hard landing.
Unfortunately I was 2 days to late but what can ya do. My luck this thing will turn on a dime tomorrow:(
Right now the Nikkei is getting pounded. To early for anything else right now.
Futures are up slightly of course they were up slightly yesterday also.
We shall see what news shakes tomorrows tree.

GL everyone

Tomorrow Won't Boom...

WorkFE,

I think we are in a moderate correction. We are only down 5% in the S&P and 7% in the Small Cap. My guess (purely a guess) is a normal correction. Maybe 10% for the big boy.

Great time to buy back in next week.

I'm waiting for the impending failure of California on Tuesday the 19th. We are only beginning to hear the news. I guess my Governator is going to fire everybody - starting with firefighters, cops, and paramedics. Regardless, the news of Californians actually voting down tax increases will cause shock and dismay. Maybe even a bit of bond holder panic, eh...

Agreed. There really is no safe place to be, only safest of the 5 evils. I am looking at a possible 33% retracement from 930. After that it is anyones guess. You are looking 30 to 60 days out. Market sentiment will determine where we go from there.

Reports:
PPI @ 0830
WalMart- Quarterly report

World Markets look bleek this morning.

Good luck today.

The sell in MAY and go away............and stay away...way away. if short term trading was possible in TSP? like hour to hour.....you might make some money. thats not the tsp, buy/sell for the day.... 2 times a month.... and feast/famin then retreat to G.

TSP NAZIS CAN KISS MY ASS:mad:

ChipDip,

Most people go broke and shoot people when they day-trade. I don't like a two trade limit, but I think day-trading a long term retirement fund is kinda odd.

Like Birch, I don't really care if a lose a point or ten or even twenty. I'll make it up in weeks, months, or maybe a year. Then I will probably get five years of large and stable growth. My miserable trading strategy is to avoid 40% losses. Banging around and trying to time the market when your investments are large index funds seems rather pointless... It's busy work.
