I've also noticed an increase in people shopping/buying and eating out and the change seems more than the normal winter to spring change. Although this area, as SOG, is insulated, I think we are seeing a mood swing in a large portion of the country. The selected areas that have been severely impacted will continue to go down but the fear that had gripped the majority of the country that is lightly impacted (except for the abstract notion of working longer to reach retirement) is easing. I think the 40 somethings believe their 201ks will return to 401ks in just a few years. Except those who follow Roubini.
 
Ouch that stings, I was getting alittle to comfy with daily gains I guess.
If we pullback more tomorrow I believe I will increase my CSI shares. Only because I believe there is more uptrend to follow, might as well put more in at a lower price.
Then again we could be headed for a retest. I believe it would be a, sell the fear downtrend, but once it gets out of control there is nothing you can do but hold on.
There was some buying frenzy going on this weekend I tell you. These people were like adicts that have been without there goody's. Demand for goods seems to be growing alittle. If we could see an improved jobs report I would feel pretty good 1 week into April.

Another pull back like yesterday is expected but I do not believe this Rally is over. I've been wrong before however but I might as well dance with the one that brought me back from the depths of the tracker.:nuts:
 
If you decided to jump in today, don't be surprised if we rally back this afternoon.
The VIX and VXO are on the plus side but not exactly advancing.
 
The VIX is only up .02 which is strange for a Dow down 169 and the SPX is down 15.10.

The VXO follows the S&P 100 which is the OEX index.

I could go for a little shock and awe today. Brinker (EAT) posted good earnings and a positive outlook. Every time I go to a Steak and Shake they are busy (SNS).
 
I moved COB today, so I don't mind a down day and a rally the rest of the week:D
I agree the VIX #'s are strange considering the DOW decline so far today.
 
Don't want to see anyone moving to safety get burned today. Of course a huge rally this afternoon would put a damper on our move.
 
dow volume is really low. I guess no one really trades anymore before 3:30. I think the market will likely rebound and close at around -1%.
 
wow didnt expect that. I think the market's ready for some serious drop tomorrow. BAC dropped to red and C is still up 2% and dropping..
 
Trust
When I drive my car to and from work, to the store or on vacation there are people out there breaking the law that could affect me if I come in contact with them. I have to trust that law enforcement is doing everything they can to protect me.
When I go shopping for food, clothes, a car or a new hot tub:D I have to trust that the farmers, manufacturers and stores don't put their profits to far out in front of my safety.
When I bought my home, aside from doing a prudent inspection, I had to trust that there was not anything seriously wrong with the home that was going to endanger me and my family.
I look at investing in the same light, there are crooks out there. Sound judgement is prudent. But at some point you will have to trust an investment vehicle. At $6000 X 30 years I could save $180,000 under my matress. I will not be able to live on that so I must trust some place to invest my savings.
Until the TRUST returns to the market, and there are many reasons for it not to, I will continue to invest and TRUST that good investment vehicles will outway the crooked ones.
Because that is my choice. To believe in good over evil. So keep the band playing Captain, children and sick to the life boats, Bartender another scotch please.
 
While I was in grade school I bought one bag of cat's eye marbles and turned that investment into a very large box full - you could say I had a dead eye on potsies. To make a long story short when I moved on to high school my younger brother decided to sell all those marbles to his play ground friends. He's actually the capitalist in the family. I had the fun of winning and he collected the profits. Dow up 202 right now.

Although not revealed earlier, 3 years ago my Father was diagnosed with leukemia. My trust, not only in my savior Jesus Christ but also the many medical professionals who deal with alot of scary stuff, was absolute. I am not a doctor and I was not ready to lose my Father. My Father today is doing fine. Over the last year I had forgotten how trust trumps evil. Good prevails.
3 Weeks ago my StepFather had his leg removed halfway down the thigh. His spirits today are better than I expected and I have no doubt that he will get better because I am not ready to lose any of my parents. I do no that it will eventually happen.
I will not forget again the TRUST trumps & thumps evil. With good citizens (Majority) Good Always Prevails.
Cheats, Frauds and Criminals get away with crap everyday but as long as long we prosecute the ones we do catch to the fullest thats enough for me to have confidence that the economy will get better and GOOD Always Prevails.

It is funny that you replied. Although not USPS my stepfather is retired UPS.
 
If we can hold above SPX 850 and a VIX below 37.50 this should send the Dow up another 100 points to 300 or better.
