Finally, the day of the bull. About freaking time. Volume looked good on closing momentum as well. Hope we can pick up another good day tomorrow.

With $10 trillion sitting on the sidelines earning no returns tomorrow could be a larger gain than todays'. The financial sector of the S&P 500's stock index has lost 83% of its value since the market's peak more than the technology sector lost when the dot-com bubble burst in 2001-2002. The retail crowd is tuned out with no interest in stocks - that's classic from a contrarian perspective. We need a 35% rally to get back to the 200 day on the SPX at 1062. We now are seeing many bullish divergences and this is very positive.

Sounds like a plan to me Birchtree. I know one thing, not wanting to be left at the train station during a big bear rally is a real incentive for a follow through. It may not occur on the second day of the bear rally...but consolidate near todays close tomorrow would amount to a continued bear rally on Wednesday. In any case...looks like we got a short term bottom in.

There is no way to know for sure where the real bottom will be. I just accept the fact that stocks are cheap and eventually the market will turn around. If we get a standard bear market rally in a recession, then 15 to 20 percent rally appears doable. In any case...we are due for another 3 to 8 percent move up as a conservative range.

A worthwhile interim market bottom typically averages three months and the stock market has been bottoming now for at least that long if not longer. If we can get passed excessive investor fear then the Kress 6-year cycle should provide some support to any rally. Blast off time. I think the next key level for the VIX will be the 200 DMA between 37 and 38 - we could be there at the end of the week.

Haven't had much time to watch what's going on. They're making me work at work. Looks like the market just keeps climbing inspite of the news. Holding my position for now. This Train is a rolling, don't want to jump yet, I could get hurt going this fast. ....:nuts:
