Hello everyone,
I have been following some on this board for over a year and have made some nice returns. It's time to jump in and get my feet wet. Thanks for all the good advise.:)

From one Newbie to another, glad to have you on board. Great site, good folks!

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

good luck today it looks like we did good yesterday hope you have enough wind to sail thru today

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

Yeah, could be reefing the sails and heading for the harbor. BTW I am in class today but I will be playing along.

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

Yeah I am getting a little nervous at this point trying to time this crazy market. I will most likely take it to the harbor and wait for a better time to start buying again. Its been a nice sail but I think the seas are gonna get a little rough.

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

I hate jumping all in on a high note but I dont want to miss another short rally either. 50-s 50-I today. GL to all.

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

Question for the board. I am trying to get an accurate YTD % return on my TSP account. Do I just take my beginning year balance and my YTD balance and subtract or do I need to deduct my contributions and loan payments?

Re: WIND HUNTER'S Talk

Hello Guys, Tom's spreadsheet is probably the easiest way to keep up with your yields. It's a fun way to keep up with your returns. Go to the Returns tab & then select the financial utilities on the left side under Help. There is the spreadsheet and an instruction guide at the financial utilities section of the website. Basically just update the share prices for each fund periodically and it computes it for you. Easy. I have gotten in the habit of updating mine daily its so easy.

Yes that answers my question. I will check out the TSP calculator and play with it and see how it works. This is all pretty new to me and have alot to learn but this forum makes things alot easier. I have an annual goal of 12% so it looks like I am on target. I really appreciate the help guys.

Yes but that would include contributions as earnings wouldn't it? I think I am gonna just start out new on the TSP calculator/tracker and input my earnings/losses daily.
