Will you be shopping on Black Friday?

On the way home from the dunes tonight, I stopped at my favorite shopping place..PepBoys (used my 10% off membership card)

Bought:

14 qts of Castrol Edge 5w30

1- AC/Delco Oil filter (PF-61 for Hummer)
1- Royal Purple Oil filter (20-400 for Jag)

2 bottles of Redline SI-1 fuel conditioner

2 cans of spray electronic cleaner

1 bottle of spray vinyl protectant. (Turlewax F21)

1 gallon of low temp windshield washer fluid (rain-X)

1 3-pack of pine tree scents (New car smell)

and as a treat to myself..I went for a 12 pack of micro-fiber towels.

Whew..what a day of shopping..I bet I waited 5 minutes in line behind this old man that was questioning the price of a new set of bias ply tires for his Aires K car..

Funny thing about Black Friday. Alot over people I talk say it's not always about the deals. It is the experience:nuts:

My new son-in-law recently gave up his Walmart management position in the Chicago area. He is now attending a graduate program that the military is paying for as part of his GI Bill. But he did learn alot about their systems and did not burn any bridges on the way out thinking there may still be opportunity there in their international divisions. So we'll see how it goes.

Just spoke to a relative in law enforcement who had to pull an emergency midnight to 6 am shift at the local small Walmart ten minutes from my house. Picture this: almost 5,000 people waiting for the doors to open; all checking lanes open and lines going clear back to the pet supplies aisle. In case your Walmart isn't laid out just like every one of the 'baby' Walmarts in the country, those are scary-long lines.

I'm glad I was snuggled in my bed recovering from having eight active grandchildren at my house yesterday!

Stories like that are one reason why I do my Christmas shopping on line.

Happy Black Friday,
Maggie

Uh, No...

I don’t get drunk enough to run amuck in the crowds.
Pushing and shoving like some boozer at a European soccer match...

Yes, appliance shopping online. Lots of free shipping, no sales tax and 0% financing for 24 months. $3,000 msrp fridge, for $2,100. The best black friday offers for brick/mortar chains is $500 more.

I won't be shopping. I'll be working at Best Buy. I work there part time and every employee gets to enjoy the ambiance of that day. I get to arrive by 4:30am. This will be my 7th B.F.
