I know we all have our own opinions, I work for the government just like most here and I personally applaude wikileaks for this act. I believe in the "truth". We have known for decades that our government lies to us at just about anything. A wise man once said "You will know the TRUTH, and the truth will set you free" John 8:32. I have heard the expression "wake up america" but hopefully with the current situation here on earth all humans will begin to "wake up" to the truth. It's "complicated" I know, but this leak of secret files by wikileaks is HUGE and it creates many questions. Bottom line (in my opinion) is this. From gen mchrystal and his posse "speaking up" too this latest leak of monumental proportions, I see many "within" the ranks who are starting to step up and speak out on behalf of a tired and beleaguared nation.

What do you guys think?

Who would you turn to if you witnessed our Gov't, in this case, the military, commit what you believed was a crime or egregious offense?

My beef with this website is that they clearly have an anti-government agenda. I'm all for bringing the troops home but at the same time, I'd rather not compromise their intel and tactics. Arming the enemy is just plain Un-American.

I just came back from Italy after a 5 week vacation. I have to tell anyone who wants to hear, that country is just like our was 30 to 60 years ago. Talked with some folks there, who became my first face book friends, who were great people and had so many nice things to say. They did say however that Europe is like the US in one or two bad ways, but I didn't see it. What I saw were some nice looking young women in nice tight jeans. I have to say, that alone tells me that at least half its population has got it right. It is really a beautiful thing to watch; young women on vespas, in short dresses somehow keeping their vanity intact as the wind played with their clothes, perfect posture, great legs, cruising up and down cobble stone streets. Older women tanned brown and golden, still trim and looking so dignified as they walked and talked. Men talking with women and each other, stopped in the sidewalk, talking with their hands and engaged in heartfelt discussions. When have we seen any of this in the US? I'm sorry, but we don't. I know maybe I need to get out more, and I'll try to be more friendly with my neighbors but I always seem to get pushed in the back of the bus when I engage with my friends. I need to pick em better and I always plan to. But when I think of the head start I could have if I lived in Italy. I am gonna get there permanently. Folks, know what's important and keep the dream alive. Caio.

I think it's interesting how some people here (who work for, and gladly draw a paycheck from, "the Government") talk about how the Government is corrupt and lies to us all. What the flock does that make you (besides a hypocrit)? I'd love to tell you what you are but I enjoy coming here to read the actual insights on investing in the TSP. As far as I'm concerned anyone that leaks and/or reports classified information when we are at war with anybody, including terrorists, should be considered an enemy of this country and delt with appropriately. If it were up to me they'd simply be executed here in the states and if they were in another country they'd quietly disappear. Unfortunately that won't happen but if people that live here don't like the way this country is run they always have the option of moving to a better place like mexico or greece or the mideast. No one is holding a gun to your head to live here.

What the flock does that make you (besides a hypocrit)? I'd love to tell you what you are but I enjoy coming here to read the actual insights on investing in the TSP. As far as I'm concerned anyone that leaks and/or reports classified information when we are at war with anybody, including terrorists, should be considered an enemy of this country and delt with appropriately. I quit the government. Basically told them to stick where the sun don't shine...............I'll take my retirement money and invest it when and where I want. Not getting a pension anymore, why put up with the BS? Did leave some in TSP just because of cheap fees............

Now I"m working at a golf course for less than one fourth what I made with the government. And loving it!!!!!

So there!!!!!!!!!!! Now, what does that make me?

Seven years military, seven years government contractor and 13 years government civilian................presently, four months golf course groundskeeper.................went from 230 lbs to currently 195. Went from a blood pressure of 128\84 to 116\71. Good to bad cholesterol ratio up, glucose levels down. Got the libido of a teenager too..................

Sometimes job security just ain't worth it.............there's work out there if you're willing to do it and not just live off the government.........
