Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers, I miss my Dad already. Having honorable service in the USAF, he will be in the Long Island National Cemetery end of next week. Life goes on... At least this site is back at work.

Thanks guys, it has been a challenging time, but its part of life. I most regret being so busy with work/reserves and dealing with time/distance challenges when he was early in his retirement and not getting to spend time then. Sorry about the rants, its been my mood of late with all that's going on, its just me. Good to be back in the market... I think![]()
Sorry to hear about your dad, Whipsaw. I've been on the road and just saw this. I lost my father at a very young age and in a strange way I found comfort as I grew up knowing I wouldn't have to deal with what you must be going through now. Now that I have my own son, who recently graduated from college, I got to know what I may have missed out on.
All the best.
Thanks Tom, you're doing right by your son which is what is important now. For everyone here, as we move to the right on the age scale, its a good idea to pre-plan our final arraignments. Of course its not something anyone really wants to think about, but to have something for those left behind to go to and find that everything has been put in place would save allot of angst, guesswork and jumping through hoops at a very emotional time. Have an estate plan, make bank and investment accounts TOD (transfer on death) to beneficiaries, update insurance policies, create trusts, have wills and POAs drawn up, choose your resting place and buy the plot, have instructions for last rights, church services, etc. as your beliefs and desires dictate, transfer property at appropriate times... all that good stuff, organized, while your able. I had to do all of that, and managed to get it all right, I think. Do your next of kin a favor...![]()
