Whipsaw's Account Talk

this is starting to really bend my sprockets. went in to take some gains over two days, and all the gains made are being lost four days later. complete baloney.

An analyst in the Marketwatch market stream is looking for S&P 2000 to hold, otherwise this could be a larger correction. Sticky Pants deployed...

1/3 of me is happy I moved my 3 retirement accounts to stable value funds on Tuesday, including TSP. Another 1/3 of me is saying, "this is enough" for my remaining stock funds. And they said I was stupid for laddering 1/3 of my money in CD's ranging from 1.5-1.75%. Wait, this is sad, I am stuck in CD's for years, pissing away my respectable gains from my mutual funds and trapped in the G Fund until January.

Per the lower pane on this chart, you won't find a nice bottom today, not in the stock market anyway...

...if you're bullish, you want to see a strong rally start immediately from here that gets above yesterday morning's peak of 2076. Otherwise the bears are in charge from here on.

Thanks TS, we shall see what Monday brings! Have a great weekend everyone! Whipsaw out.

Go! Go! Go! Go! :D

Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing Ring ting tingle-ing too Come on, it's lovely weather For a sleigh ride together with you... :)

I could not speculate on what a top might be as to many times this year I have bought in at the high of the month, only to see prices fall after I get in. (gotta work on that in 2016)

I have however read a number of articles as well as seen a number of folks on the business channels say that the volatility will continue into the new year. This fact will make it more difficult to time a move with our 12:00 noon cut off times. I've been thinking that moves of no more than 50% at a time may help to curb losses, but in that same vein, it curbs gains as well. So if anyone out there has a good strategy for volatile times, I'm all ears...

I missed moving out today, distracted by a little Christmas shin dig we have going on at the house :)

I need one more strong up day to get back to even for the month... :-/

IFT 100% G COB

I'm with Burro on this one... Almost even for Dec, a bird in the hand at this point. I'll just have to pick an entry in January. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Almost time for some Holiday Cheer! :1244:

Well, upon completing my IFT to the lilly pad for the year, I was asked to complete a survey on how they could improve my online experience... I told them an increase in the number of IFTs available for the month would be a tremendous improvement! :D

nice move hawk, i don't think you can go wrong with that, get out and book your winnings, you've had a great year. very deliberate and patient and careful and protected gains through some rough waters. i don't wish ill on anyone but look at the bright side, if the market tanks then all but a couple ahead of you already in g fund are going to get flushed out and you may still make top ten.

happy holidays and happy trading next year my friend.

Right on Burro! A good day to take profits it was! Nice to have a few days off from work this week and not have to look at the market, if I don't want to! ;) Not to wish ill returns for anyone, but top 10 would be nice...

Yes! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all!
