Whipsaw's Account Talk

The slide in stocks continues... shouldn't the F-Train be making some gains at this point? What's up with that?!

I'm definitely out of my league on this but I'd wager it has something to do with the zero lower bound on rates limiting upside pricing potential. At some point folks would rather just hold cash or some other low risk vehicle.

I think stocks, until today, were working off the oversold condition. We saw it plenty on the upside and now seeing it a bit on downside. Of course, nearly every time I open my month thinking I have any idea what is going on...Mr. Market shows me just how wrong I can be!

Think I had this same discussion a month ago with JTH. Try this:
Why Aren Just for you buddy.

“The most credible explanation is simply that the interest rate equity correlation is systematically inversely related to the level of interest rates.”

OF COURSE!

Reposting DreaboatAnnie's chart links, these are pretty valuable... Thanks DBA!

Reposting Charts- Here are the daily and weekly charts. These links should automatically update. You can manually refresh by hitting the "Draw chart" button at left and select different time frames and indicators. This is a repost of post 559.

DAiLY CHARTS

These daily charts are set to show EMA 10, 20, 50 day averages, plus Bollinger bands, and both slow and fast Stochastics. I have a bookmark for each, click on links and it automatically pulls up the most current data ...these bigcharts update throughout day..so I also often use these to see what's happening intraday. I just reset timeframes to a two-day with 15 minute or hourly increments.

Here are the WEEKLY charts.
These have "weekly" EMA 10, 20, 50 plus BBs, MACD, and The Stochastics ( slow and fast). Looking at the 10 weekly average EMA and for crossover below the 20 weekly EMA....one indicator for possible trigger to pull out of market.

Definitely the obvious catalyst but this reaction seems to have a few more things baked into it. Seems like a lot of traders had their fingers on sell triggers. Time will tell.

Shortest trade of mine, ever. 1 day, sheesh. To the lilly pad till Sep. I want to hear that flushing sound! Now, of course, it will test the highs by the end of the month.

Have to go out of pocket. Glad a few of my friends are safe now. Good to finally be on the right side of the news again.

Mooo... I'm stuck in the pasture for the next two weeks -.- It is what it is :cheesy:, 0% for the day I was in S, what are the odds? Now for a good long look, maybe even skip a few days on the board. There might be a few up and down cycles, test of the highs, and then maybe, just maybe, a heatlhy correction to jump back in on. It is the worst three months, there are worse times to be on the sidelines.
