Whipsaw's Account Talk

No set number that I'm aware of, the pattern persists until it plays out or burns through. Flip a coin right now, some are saying fed pumping will keep the rally going, others saying we test the lows. :dunno: could put in half...

Futures are up big, was supposed to be the top of the bear market rally on Thursday... earnings are good, or just not as bad as anyone expected? Is a re-test of the lows in jeopardy?

Is a re-test of the lows in jeopardy?

No one knows for sure. Aside from that, I'm keeping an eye on the moving averages. If Mr. Market can at least climb above the 50-DMA, and then remain above it for at least a few days, then I will likely make an IFT. Target areas for 50-DMA... give/take:

S&P: 2,909

Dow: 25,058.00

Naz: 8,453.00

I'm losing ground in the tracker, looking for this rising wedge to break down; still in the pattern. Hmmmmm...

And a drop due to numerous bad reports, but my thinking is that folks already knew to expect bad earnings. I’m looking for some good news out of virus stats, Trump or some of the feds.

Maybe when "The Plan " is unveiled it will add some umppfff to market...hope its really good. I am still debating jumping in but Slow Stochastic seems like its turning downward....but anything could cause it to turn around. I would like to wait until it gets to 20 before an entry.... will see if I can hold off. Sitting on my hands. oh...patience...patience please!

PS Whipsaw, yes I do think models way off... I'm not too happy with restrictions on liberty and major stab to economy. Also, not happy with China's lack of transparency and loss of life and livelihood around the World! (lol... responding to your comment on another thread...)

Loss of liberty outweigh the loss of life?

Perhaps that is a good thing to say when talking about protecting oneself from the Coronavirus. However, our national cemeteries are filled with people willing to sacrifice there lives for that very liberty you speak of. Don't be so hasty to give away what they fought so hard for us to have.

Not even remotely an equal comparison.

What about the nursing home patients who fought for liberty and are dead now because someone who did not think they needed to heed the calls for isolation and brought the virus to the patient and ultimately killed the patient?

RF and WW, we as Americans :usa2: have the intelligence, initiative, and responsibility to act accordingly and protect ourselves and others in these trying times through minimization of virus transference through identified guidelines. We, as Americans, with enumerated rights, do not need the various levels of government to deny us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (primarily achieved through business and commerce), especially when based on junk science and flawed analysis. :suspicious: Even with the most stringent of protocols, a nasty bug will find its way to someone vulnerable which may end in death. It is tragic, but sometimes (and ultimately) unavoidable.

Back to the concern, on this thread anyway, are we retesting the lows or not?!

Don't mean to highjack your thread but I appreciate your reminder, not only for those RIP in our National Cemeteries but currently the medical personnel as well, risking their well being caring for the thousands who are so seriously ill with Covid-19.
