Whipsaw's Account Talk

I've always thought the noon EST cut off was a detriment to us TSP folks. Changing it to 4:00 pm EST cut off would help to level the playing field, but maybe that makes to much sense...

Sometimes me thinks only the politicians are allowed to win. :(

Agreed. In this day and age of computers/software there is NO REASON why we shouldn't be able to make moves (especially only 2 per month) on a "real-time" basis and still keep the fees down.

You guys are keeping it close. The numbers are a little different in the current AutoTracker though.

Good luck to everyone. Currently "CSI" is red.

Actually, those numbers are from the current "Non-PS Members Full Year Only 2018 standings". That's also the one I use most of the time.

uggh.... S fund down by more than 1% .... thinking of an exit. Not sure yet... 1 hour to decide... today or tomorrow. Yep testing the bottoms but it was a darn weak "dead cat bounce".. says a lot. :(

This market action reminds me of the dot-com bust when I was leveraged on margin. Please anyone on margin do yourself a favor and get off of it. I lost 90% of my money having to sell good positions to cover margin calls. We haven't heard anything about margin calls but I think we will hear something soon.I'm not trying to scare anyone but hope to give you information to preserve your capital.

HI RSpring... I heard someone on FBN talk about that a few days ago. Margin calls... folks hitting that would definitely impact market downward. And I think they mentioned they did not think that had yet kicked in... .so we maybe in for more fun!!! weeeee..... I just exited because I just can't handle that much excitement! Gotta do it... was just hoping to exit on a better day... dang it!!!! Best Wishes to you and Everyone !!!!!!!

Its tempting to bail, but it seems like we're coming off a test of the lows... this noon cut of is the pits!

The issue for me, bailing now, is that I will be out of IFTs. Therefore, I am out of the market until March. Neither choice is appealing.

Testing the lows, putting in a double bottom, that has resulted in resumption of upward movement in the past. Lets see if that holds true this time, one reason I didn't bail... we shall see.

Nnutt posted a technical analysis video last night that looks at weekly charting trend lines which showed that we're at support going back many moons. The analyst expressed an opinion that there should/could/might be one more push to the highs over the next weeks/months before a major dump, but if support fails, look out below. He also characterized the last month or so as a 'blow off top' which was being discussed last fall, having never seen one, didn't recognize the steeper incline as such. I wish I had been hawking the Grock Trade videos, I didn't recognize the weakness in the days prior to the drop and he called the sell. I'm tempted to exit on any strength today, I do have an IFT to get back in. Futures are up...

Man, when the markets open to the upside a full percentage and more, and it just doesn't look like much... :-/

If we don't get much lower I think that would be a 'win' for holding on support. If the Fed changes their tune, we could see some recovery...
If the afternoon accelerates to the downside I'm going into my crawl space and jumping out the foundation vent! ;swear
