Which Index does the S fund follow?

Does it follow the The Dow Jones Total Stock Market Index or the Wilshire 4500 Completion Index?

I believe it's the Wilshire 4500. Look at the bottom of this page and you'll see the chart for it.

Just out of curiosity, why? The r2k is the smallest 2000 stocks of the S fund...

I also like to trade TNA / TZA, and usually at the end of the day, the returns/losses on IWM and Wilshire 4500 are roughly the same.

I probably am more active with trading than TSP moves anyway, through backtesting, my system on average makes under 10 moves a year
