what's wrong with this picture?

My intent was to show class bias. Rich people bias ... There isn't blind justice in this country. There is one set of penalties for rich people, and a different one for the poor.

Same as it ever was.

Ask the King of the Jews how fair he percieved the Roman justice system to be. Or the serfs in fuedal Europe, the proletariat, the trailer trash, hoi polloi. The native americans preserved and shared a great wealth, unfortunately the pioneers didn't recognize the currency.

Must be human nature. Many great men (and women) over centuries have applied their best skill and effort to affect change, with limited degrees of local success, but always universal failure.

Don't worry, this is an imperfect world we live in, but justice will be served in the end. You can't change what is, only who you are. Do you respond with hate and anger? Or peace and love?

That's a noble course you are on. Buena Suerte.

Hint: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I beleive your intent was to show racial bias. Why do you do that? Just me wanting to know.

PO

You believe wrong.

My intent was to show class bias. Rich people bias. Steal $3 BILLION dollars for greed, and you get a slap on the wrist. Steal $100 to feed yourself because you are hungry, and you get slapped with four times the length of a prison sentence.

There isn't blind justice in this country. There is one set of penalties for rich people, and a different one for the poor.

This is the guy- who, in part, is responsible for FREDDIE MAC's collapse.
See https://jwheeler59.wordpress.com/2011/06/23/whats-that-smell/

I personally lost 30K in Freddie Mac's collapse.

And this son of a bitch is getting 40 months for stealing $3 BILLION dollars.

And you know what?

Take a good look at the FBI's press release on Mr. Paul r. Allen's conviction.
http://www.fbi.gov/washingtondc/pre...enced-to-40-months-in-prison-for-fraud-scheme

You know what is missing in there?

There isn't a WORD about any money being paid back by Mr. Allen. None. Not a cent.

You know how he got caught? Because just stealing $3 BILLION dollars wasn't enough for him. He got caught while stealing an ADDITIONAL $500 million of TARP funds.

And not a CENT is being paid back.

http://www.fbi.gov/washingtondc/pre...enced-to-40-months-in-prison-for-fraud-scheme

It has nothing to do with race.

It has everything to do with the RICHEST 1% (By the way- the ones who are now paying lower taxes than at any time in modern history, and the right is working on lowering that number even more) having a totally different justice system than the poor.

Alevin and Grandma, take your "luminousity" elsewhere. Good deflection Alevin.

James, state your original intent of the initial post. : What's wrong with this picture". Where was the picture?

I beleive your intent was to show racial bias. Why do you do that? Just me wanting to know.

I'm not going to engage on the "picture", think people got that one pretty well figured out, but GRANDMA, I just discovered Luminosity a couple weeks ago. Wow, it's awesome. Havent had time to use up my 2d and 3d free sessions yet, but I could sense improvement in my deficit areas just from the time I invested in the first session! I'm sold. as soon as I have time to use up the free sessions, I plan to actually sign up with real $. $well-spent, if the first session is anything to judge by.

Actually, my point was more to the issue of economic class rather than race.

Someone can steal $3 BILLON dollars because of greed ..only gets 40 months,
while another man stealing $100 because he is hungry gets 15 years.

That's just plain wrong.

I agree with the last line. I am also glad that in the the first line you stated "more". That word does show that you believe race played a part. Maybe you are correct. Maybe not. For every successful government employee I know there are a bunch of friends or relatives hanging around who want on the gravy train. When it is explained to them the journey to employment took initiative and study to become qualified, most relatives and friends accuse the government employee of not sharing.

Just my observation. Jim, it applies to white folks too.

Grandma,

The implication about what you may or may not have implied is based on the implication by some that the the implied author of the original post pertaining to this subject within this thread, aka. #43 or http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/member.php?4548-James48843, may or may not have alluded to racism in his posting.

In my humble opinion the alleged poster may or may not have a racial bias. The fact that the alleged poster seems to believe that judicial sentences are based on skin color as opposed to net worth in this instance only proves that the alleged poster may or may not be a bigot.

Just my thoughts. Allegedly.

You all have it wrong...Knowing Jim as we all do and his need to constantly through out the "Racist" word; He was demonstrating with his post that only because the Man that received a stiffer sentence for a $100.00 vs the Man that took billions was because he was BLACK.

$100 buys you room and board for fifteen years? Sounds like that ole boy got things figgered out.

And them suckers that paid 3 billion to the suit only got the room part of the deal? Fools.

Mr Brown's error was, yes, implying he had a weapon. Since he took only `what he needed' and voluntarily surrendering to the police the next day, he may have had a few other moves up his sleeve . He will, most probably, be finished with detox by the time he gets his sentence served; he has a roof over his head, a place to sleep, and three meals (of sorts) a day. People.

Its quite clear the homeless man WANTED to get arrested to get off the street and have a free lunch.
Maybe he got more free lunch than he bargained for.

End of story.
