Does anyone remember pong?
The "Adam" of all video games! I do, but a few years after it came out. (I was 2 when it was invented.)

There was a huge article about Pong and its inventor about a year or so ago.

The "revisited" versions from Atari/Hasbroof these games, especially Pong, for the PC are really neat and a lot of fun. They did an awesome job keeping the original flavour of the game, yet making it contemporary.

I'm surprised how many people here had Intellivisions!

So that's what we're gonna do at the first TSPTalk retreat...play old video games...hehe

Haha, I used that service! I paid $2K under invoice. I may have been able to have gone lower, but I really, really wanted this particular PT.

Did any of you play this game?

Utopia - now this was an interesting concept for a game: you have control of a country on either the left or the right half of the screen, and you can build schools, houses, hospitals, and I'm sure there are a few I've forgotten... plus you can plant crops... and place rebels in the opponent's country. How do you build up the funds for all these things? With a fishing boat! Of course, you always had to be on the lookout for hurricanes (depicted by a spinning white band of pixels). Those would destroy most things in their path, including your fishing boat.

Or how about this:

Sea Battle - the size of the volley that you shoot depended on the ship you were using. I remember the battleship fired a four pixel volley, and the destroyer only fired one half that size. Heh.

And yes, computer emulators are great. Thanks to them, I can waste loads of time playing games nearly as old as I am. Heh. I don't play Atari games on my MAME emulator though - I play arcade games... namely, paperboy and rampage.
