If ever there was a time where both Europe and NATO were deemed weak, powerless and irrelevant, now would be that time so let Europe get off their collective (let's form a committee) azz and blockade Russia. Turns out Venezuela’s CITGO sold to billionaire last month, just before we attacked.

One of President Donald Trump’s top billionaire donors, who has spent the past several months backing a push for regime change in Venezuela, is about to cash in after the president’s kidnapping of the nation’s president, Nicolas Maduro, this weekend.

While he declined to tell members of Congress, Trump has said he tipped offoil executives before the illegal attack. At a press conference following the attack, he said the US would have “our very large United States oil companies” go into Venezuela, which he said the US will “run” indefinitely, and “start making money” for the United States.

Everything is always about money, and there's usually sleaze involved, but why isn't it also about drugs, security, and freeing the Venezuelan people from a cruel socialist? I heard it was because Maduro mocked the Trump dance.

There is a world of bad guy leaders that could be removed for the drugs, security and freeing people from a cruel leader. The fact that the other countries don't have oil and minerals are likely factors why our administration is not interested in those countries.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group has crossed into Central Command, the Middle East region that includes Iran, a U.S. official told CBS News. The movement comes as Iran renewed warnings Monday — days after Iran's Revolutionary Guard commander warned that his force had its "finger on the trigger," while the U.S. warships moved toward the region.

The strike group is comprised of the Lincoln, an aircraft carrier, and three guided missile destroyers: the USS Frank E. Petersen, Jr., the USS Spruance and the USS Michael Murphy. On board the Lincoln are squadrons of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, EA-18G Growlers, F-35C fighter jets and MH-60R/S helicopters.

The naval force was not necessarily "on station" as of Monday morning Eastern Time, meaning it was not in its intended ultimate position.

President Trump said on Thursday that the U.S. had a "massive fleet" heading toward Iran "just in case" he wants to take action, although he added, "maybe we won't have to use it."

DUBAI, Jan 26 (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates will not let its airspace, territory or territorial waters be used for any hostile military actions against Iran, the UAE foreign ministry said on Monday, reaffirming its commitment to neutrality and regional stability.

Uncertainty over the possibility of military action in Iran has lingered after U.S. President Donald Trump said last week that an "armada" was heading towards the country but that he hoped he would not have to use it.

Trump's warnings to Tehran were against killing protesters or restarting its nuclear programme.

Iran has been embroiled in protests which rights groups say left thousands of people, including bystanders, killed. The rights groups describe the unrest as the biggest crackdown since Shi'ite Muslim clerics took power in the 1979 revolution.

Yea, maybe it's plausible, but it reads like dead-end investigation with the whole "no contact made". IMHO any testimony taken at the time (and after) DJT was running for President, is just not credible. For myself, anything prior to 2016 carries more weight.

But since this thread pertains to WAR, is it plausible we are poised for a strike? It seems with the recent bait and switch of "Let's make a nuke deal" that Israel is once again controlling the narrative.
