Azanon's logic is flawless, ie, if you cannot afford both an emergency account and a Roth, max the Roth. Ideally, you would have both but if you cannot, everything stated by Azanon holds true. Everybody reading this post should ignore MTs conclusions regarding withdrawing contributions because they are flat out wrong. He has been corrected numerous times by Rod, myself, and others and continues to scream inane advice to anybody foolish enough to listen.
