Free trades, interesting. Are you using them? Any issues?

As for Robinhood Instant, isn't that available at all brokerages? You can always reinvest funds without waiting the 3 days as far as I know. You just can't sell that new stock until the the third day. At least that's true at Scottrade and Fidelity.

Yes, k0n first mentioned them a couple of years ago I think. I've been using them for almost a year I think. No major issues. No web interface yet, only mobile apps. No frills. Decent fills. Only basic orders so far. No margin. I would recommend.

I'll have to find out more about the instant thing. I've been on the waiting list for a few weeks I guess. Some on reddit were talking about it keeps tracks of your daytrades so as to avoid pattern daytrading. So it sounds like it's like a margin account without the margin, if that makes sense. :) Sounds like you can buy and sell, without waiting the three days to sell, as well as not waiting three days to buy. I'll post if I find out for sure.

Do me a solid and let me refer you if you want to try them...it'll push me to the front of the Instant line. :D

Genotick -- Artificial Intelligence Investing

"... So what is Genotick? It's a software that creates (and tests) mechanical trading systems. Each system consists of a set of simple instructions that reassemble machine language. There are dozens of instructions, some load data, some manipulate numbers and some execute jumps within a system. Genotick can create any mechanical system: mean reverting, trend following, price action or even based on fundamentals (if fundamental data is provided). ..."

The following link refers to a piece against traditional technical analysis. The authors beliefs are not necessarily my own. They are selling something, but who isn't?

"Technical Analysis Has Contributed To A Massive Wealth Redistribution

Classical technical analysis has contributed to the largest non-violent wealth-redistribution in the history of mankind. Modern technical analysis is not doing any better.

The massive wealth redistribution that was caused by the use of technical analysis was from retail traders to market makers, started in the 1980s and lasted for about three decades.

The redistribution is still continuing but it is limited and it is from technical traders that are experiencing a backfire cognitive bias to algo traders that act as market makers."

Technical Analysis Has Contributed To A Massive Wealth Redistribution | Price Action Lab Blog

Not to offend anyone, but I completely agree on this article. The markets don't give a flying flamingo about technical analysis. It's mostly just junk science where some patterns do have a slight statistical edge, but this is not because technical analysis works on the markets, it's because it works on people, where if enough of them believe in the patterns, then it sort of becomes a self-fulling prophecy. I think even less of indicators, they are just another diluted form of price, volume and time, so why would I want to dilute the true source of the data with an indicator? JMHO...

This is my only form of gambling. The odds are on the house, but if I play my cards right, I will win every once in a while. I'm only down $10 for the year.

(VIDEO)"... The story of finance whiz Martin Armstrong reads like a movie script: a man designs a model that can predict the future. He calculates developments in the world economy with eerie accuracy and even the outbreak of wars. Until the FBI is on his doorstep and he is sent to prison. A free man again, he shares his views on the financial crisis and offers his solutions to governments. "

Thanks Tom,

I post a few videos from time to time, guess I've always assumed everyone knows how to handle them and the internet. :embarrest:

General FYI regarding internet videos not hosted on hulu, netflix, or youtube: Never click 'download;' only stream. Never click the advertisements. And Always use good malware blocker type browser addons/plugins/extensions--along with the traditional a/v etc. stuff.

That said, I just finished watching it...very good film.
