Gold needs a nice doji on volume here to start a recovery/bounce... but for how long... who knows. Some are talking about gold to 950 before a meaningful bounce can happen.

Also, GDX is gold miners, not gold, so GDX can keep going down as people sell off the miner stocks because their cost of doing business will exceed the price of gold... but what do I know, I just lost a ton of money by spending 15 mins on GEICO instead of watching the stock market...

Maybe, after the winner of my A.I. experiment emerges, I will pit it against my simplistic T/A style.

Months ago, I sanctioned a bot to generate buy/sell signals in DWCPF. Those signals were used to keep a running simulated account balance.

The bot was given the abilities to: Calculate a trading channel of any length and height; Determine how close to the extremes of the channel to fade or trade the breakout. It could change all/any of the many parameters I gave it, on its own, in order to come up with the most profitable settings. The simulated trades went back at least 10 years.

While it was no match for whatever system I was using at that time, I found it interesting that it NEVER chose to fade the channel. It would design a channel wide enough so that it would only trade the breakouts!

My manual T/A trading style was born from that research...though I've never used it.

Added two more models: A slow swing trade model for NUGT/DUST and another for TNA/TZA. Hated to do it, as it means more work for me, but I it is important for me to see how these styles stack up. I've renamed the original swing models, "FAST SWING TRADE."

PS If I didn't mention it earlier, I use DWCPF as an underlying to generate the TNA/TZA signals.

Excellent question! I knew it was coming, I just haven't had time to prepare the answer.

The answer is most easily explained if I 'draw' diagrams. Give me a day or so and I'll post an answer with diagrams.
