Do we really need to do this again?
Is it a liberal tea party? Is it Marxism run amok? Is it an Arab Spring on Wall Street? Is is a hippie gathering? Will Radiohead show up?
Absolutely, maybe if they say it enough everyone will believe. How many times do we need to argue this point? Calling people names just means you've run out of good arguments.I'm assuming you mean the feeling of Deja vu with this thread

Embrace each other now, you millions!
The kiss is for the whole wide world! [TABLE="class: post-message"]

[TD="width: 99%"]Joy, o wondrous spark divine,
Daughter of Elysium,
Drunk with fire now we enter,
Heavenly one, your holy shrine.
Your magic powers join again
What fashion strictly did divide;
Brotherhood unites all men
Where your gentle wing's spread wide.
The man who's been so fortunate
To become the friend of a friend,
The man who has won a fair woman -
To the rejoicing let him add his voice.
The man who calls but a single soul
Somewhere in the world his own!
And he who never managed this -
Let him steal forth from our throng!
Joy is drunk by every creature
From Nature's fair and charming breast;
Every being, good or evil,
Follows in her rosy steps.
Kisses she gave to us, and vines,
And one good friend, tried in death;
The serpent she endowed with base desire
And the cherub stands before God.
Gladly as His suns do fly
Through the heavens' splendid plan,
Run now, brothers, your own course,
Joyful like a conquering hero
Embrace each other now, you millions!
The kiss is for the whole wide world!
Brothers - over the starry firmament
A beloved Father must surely dwell.
Do you come crashing down, you millions?
Do you sense the Creators presence, world?
Seek Him above the starry firmament,
For above the stars he surely dwells.

Years Ahead of it's Time: A Rare 2003 Roundtable Predicting Today's EventsTopics discussed: Housing bubble, stock market collapse and bottom before 2010, an explosive move in gold, the threat of massive derivatives holdings in major banks, tariffs, trade wars, and eventual protests/social unrest
In a rare roundtable discussion, Richard Russell, Peter Eliades, Tim Wood, and the late Kennedy Gammage discuss a bursting housing bubble, stock market bottom before 2010, beginning of a long term bull market in gold, future protests, trade wars, and much more.
This is the problem with our country as well as this board. We have become so divided and partisan and it's all about us and cutting down the other side. My suggestion is for everyone to quit their party affiliation. Only then will you be set free.So many here just want to beat this thing way past death just to prove that they are right and the other side is wrong

You see, this is the problem. Theses protests aren't about socialism or capitalism or any other ism. It's not about party politics.I dont know the source for this, but it makes plenty good sense.
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class, all grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.

I don't think it matters if this was an actual event or rather a metaphor to illustrate a truism, it still gets the point across…sort of like this example here:The reason you don't have a source is cause it's made out of whole cloth. Several sources show it's made up.
A Father Daughter Talk
A young woman was about to finish her first year
of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to
be a very liberal Democrat, and was very much in favor of the
redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather
staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the
lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a
professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil,
selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his
opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the addition of more
government welfare programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by
her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her
father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she
had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain,
insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was
constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party
like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a
boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she
spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is you
friend Audrey doing?"
She replied, " Audrey is barely getting by. All
she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a
2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus, college for her is a blast. She's
always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even
show up for classes because she's too hung over."
Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't
you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA
and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will
both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal
distribution of GPA."
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's
suggestion, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have
worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and
a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree.
She played while I worked my tail off!"
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently,
"Welcome to the Republican Party"
