tsptalk.mobi - Has Anybody Been Using It?

Well, it hadn't been working the last few weeks. Now that it is, I will have to see what it can do.

I kind of hate having a data plan, but it gives me that much more control of my tsp.
I can make last minute decisions in meetings. Thank you for getting this up and running.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have the same issue. I pay for a cable internet service at home/office. I pay for a broadband service for my laptop. To add another service for a mobile phone seems too much. That's why I need you guys to be guinea pigs for these mobile versions. :D

I tried the .mobi version but prefer to read via android app and maintain account through full web version. That's a bit awkward on a phone but can port laptop through it for the fancy stuff using normal input controls.

Happy to oblige ;)

Honestly, I am not a huge fan. It's not the easiest to navigate as it ends up looking like a bastardized version of the sitemap on a small screen.
The "view full webpage" option is a great one though, it's like seeing what I see on a PC and I feel more comfortable navigating it on my android.
I also use the app which is ok, not the greatest, but definitely a benefit.

I need the mobile option as I am not always at my desk right before 11am and I never know if I'll see something that makes me want to do an IFT (actually just did it last week from my android).
I just feel it gives me one more leg up in those moments where I can't get to a computer.

I haven't explored much as I'm just happy not to have to find a way to bypass the homepage!!! BUT I did try to go to the Message Board from tsptal.mobi/ and what the heck?! why is there a box for "username" and then an empty box and then a box for "password?" Sort of like that game show Let's Make a Deal, but boxes, not doors. I chose box number 1 and box number 3, given they were labeled Username and Password, but that didn't get me entree.

Box one and two.

I tried one and three, had no luck. Saw that box two hides my characters and figured it was for the password.

Voila

What exactly is this for? For some reason I thought my iphone app would look like this.
This is a very basic mobile version of TSP Talk. It's free from my hosting company. Building one specifically for TSP Talk could cost me $5K to $10K unless I try to do it myself. I chose the free one for now. :)

The iPhone and Android Apps are just for the message board. I had to buy them from the forum software company.

I just didn't understand what type of device the mobile version was for. Can you tell I'm technologically challenged?

Pretty cool. Rotation of screen would be cool for the fat thumb people (me), but this works just fine. Kudos.

OK thought this was the ipod app thread. Where are my reading glasses?

If you must know...no!

like my fullbrowser smartphone

Tom,

When is the iPad app going to be ready?
I saw this discussion on vbulletin...

Are you making one or have one in any plans to make one?

My posters are asking?
nope no plans for tablets as vbulletin says "can view normal site just fine on a tablets larger screen via the built in web browser"

I for one would like a iPad app.........
I know Wayne has used the normal iOS app on his iPad and says it looks fine (don't have one myself despite - although who knows what Santa will bring... :p )

So it sounds like you can use this http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tsp-talk-message-board/id460088067?mt=8 for the forum. For the rest of the site, I don't know. Does the .mobi site work?

Don't know about the .mobi site. The iPhone app works on the iPad; however, it just makes it larger (2x) and doesn't allow for any increased functionality (which on the iPhone app is minimal). I can access TSPTalk.com via the iPad web browser but would like to see a dedicated app for ease of use.

Probably someday. vBulletin likes to stay on top of things. But I'm guessing that fewer than 1% or 2% of forum users are using the ipads (at least before Christmas :)) so it may be a little while (some time this year perhaps) before they develop it.
