TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

Stocks started off with three consecutive positive days for the week. Thursday opened down but dip buyers were there to reduce the losses and maintain most the week's gains. Those gains were wiped out at Friday's open and this time dip buyers could not reclaim those gains and the market fell short of par for the week.

The F-fund led the week being the only fund (other than the G-fund) to produce positive gains. The I-fund significantly lagged with more than a 2% loss for the week.

Here are the weekly, monthly, and annual TSP fund returns for the week ending June 10th:

The SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) hit new highs for the year this week but is back below the previous high from April after Friday's gap down. There may have been rising resistance that helped the bear's cause by putting pressure on the new highs. The SPY's 20-day EMA marked the low of the week so we may see it act as support as we go into next week. The C-fund had a slight loss of 0.11% for the week.

The Dow Completion Index (S-fund) fell below the rising support of its rising trading channel Thursday which that had held since mid-May. The index gapped down Friday to produce an open gap and continued to fall until finding support from the April highs. This put the S-fund down 0.41% for the week.

EFA (EAFE Index / I-fund) lagged for the week with two consecutive days with significant losses. These days produced two open gaps as well as filled gaps in the process. The index has fallen below support from February and May lows. The I-fund was down 2.55% for the week.

AGG (Bonds / F-fund) broke above rising resistance this week but closed off the week highs produced Friday. The F-fund was up 0.38% and continues to lead the TSP funds in gains for 2016.
