Retirement Estimates and Retirement Tracking

Prior to retirement you will need fund estimates from all of your retirement sources, OPM, Social Security, TSP, and any others you may have. I have included a spreadsheet in Excel format [.xls] that can be adjusted or modified as needed. You can put in your income and expenses and see how your estimates or actual retirement is tracking.

Once retired, the estimates can be updated to track actual conditions.

I was supprised to see how much could be saved by not going to work every day. Parking was very expensive near our office. A cup of coffee was $1.40. And last summer, gasoline stations were in orbit above the space station.

:)

Nice sheet. I set one up like that last year when I started looking at retiring. I to was amazed at how much I was saving when I retired. The coffees, lunches and misc. added up.

The Prez. and our Secretary wanted The 21st century up-to-date work force. Our department was to be in the forefront. Telecommuting was a better response for our agency and the people.

We had to respond to certain investigations within 24 hours. Government cars were all located and signed out from Oklahoma City. And, you couldn't take them home. I lived 120 miles from OKC.
So I had a Honda. My car. Car payments, maintenance, etc was all job expense. Trips to and from the office was non-reinburseable. Ever 4 months I had to spend 1 week in the office without perdiem. Even the ink cartridges for printing their reports were non-reimbursable.

  I retired!
