Apparently, when it comes to buying very expensive men toys-

"Do whatever the hell you want!" doesn't mean what it says.

There is a lesson in there someplace.

The lesson I learned was to not ask for permission or announce such a decision prior to the actual event...The utter shock and disbelief upon spouse learning of the purchase of the toy usually prevents hard feelings being manifested via harsh words and/or physical abuse in the immediate aftermath. Bitterness and resentment usually form shortly thereafter, but will usually not be noticed by the man while using the aforementioned toy. One of the great traits of all men is the inability to recognize self-faults, and to judge our self-made decisions as based in reason, logic, and complete confidence. Often wrong, but never in doubt!
