The wars over!..again

Iraq actually has more proved reserves than Saudi - we'll get our share when the time arrives. By that time Eden will be firmly established.

No prob Birch..

But I forgot to mention that in case the old argument comes up.."it was a war for OIL"..

let's nip that old one in the bud too....Have you got any oil from this Birch?..I sure as to hell didn't..the Saudis are happy to keep us supplied..:D

Egg..you are entitled to your opinion and I respect it..

But I completely disagree..the Iraq war meant something good and good came of it...Too many uninformed people like yourself are fixated on this one reason (which was not the ONLY reason) that GW along with many powerful intelligent people was duped by bad intel from the CIA and that lead everyone to believe that Saddam had WMD..What if the intel was good? Which Saddam did at one time have WMDs at least..Ask Israel about the Scud attacks during Gulf war 1....Ask the 100's of thousands of Kurds he gassed with WMDs (his own countrymen)..But besides that one detail..Unless your selective memory is off as most liberal's is, the UN inspectors were lead on wild goose chases will Saddam played musical shell and ball games with Nukes and other items that the UN sanctions forbid him to have..They did dig up a whole Jet plane in the desert..who really knows..the WMD may still be buried somewhere in Iraq or Syria may have a nice stockpile of them now..I'm glad GW erred on the side of caution.....But this is old news to most of us that actually watched and followed the reasons for the Iraq invasion..Maybe the Kuwait thing had a lot to do with it..Leopard's spots ya know, can't change them..

I have a question to everyone on here. Now that the president declared the war over......

What was gained by the invasion of Iraq?

I'll go first. This question is so depressing to begin with because the answer is so obviouse (to me) and here it is ....N.O.T.H.I.N.G!

We lost thousands of our boys and girls, we spent billions and billions and billions of $ on this war (money just P*SSED down the drain), we have since lost millions of jobs, lost trillions in the stock market, and have ..ONCE AGAIN (just like in nam) shown that we are a war mongering and misguided nation. I say misguided because we went to Iraq after being attacked by bin laden (who, I might point out is still making videos and audio messages mocking us from .....Pakistan.) So many from the beginning opposed this war based on common sense, many of us knew there was nothing to be gained, and here we are 7 years later and our nation in shambles. Whats next? Iran? North korea?(the only 2 parties of the "axis of evil" left) I hope not.... however..... I fear the worst is still ahead! :( -Fish-
