Is about to take place.

They just went in the "9 (Nine) minute hold mode, which they will stay in for 41 minutes. After that, it all depends on weather and equipment. if both weather and equipment are a go, then we'll have the LAST NASA Space Shuttle mission underway.

Ok- they just got the go ahead to move forward with the countdown. They have about one minute before they resume the 9 minute count down.
 
I remember watching the shuttle launches at school in the 80s, it was a big event then. What a piece of Americana
