Silver jumps to highest level in 13 years, following gold’s 2025 rally

The price of silver moved sharply higher on Thursday morning and hit its highest level in more than a decade.

Silver futures rose more than 4%, trading above $36 per troy ounce. That is the highest price for the metal since early 2012.

My guess is ~2015. He said in a post from August of 2020:

We got them when silver was $15.92 but we also paid an extra $4 a coin for design, set up, shipping, etc. It sure took awhile for it to get over that $19.92 cost though, huh? That was 5.5 years ago

It seems silver and other commodity trading got stricter in response to the Hunt Brothers, but the massive borrowing to buy silver reminds me of what I hear from extreme crypto investors these days.

I remember the Hunt Brothers. I had about $40 in face value of silver Kennedy half dollars. Their value shot way up, I think Silver jumped to like $40 an ounce in 1980, and I sold them for a big profit.

I should have invested in Apple with the money. I was in college at the time. It didn’t end up buying stocks. 1980 was a pretty good year for parties in college. Those were the days.
