The House on Friday passed an un-Constitutional bill (H.R. 1255), that would mandate that if the Senate doesn't pass it's financial bill by April 6, that the House version automatically becomes law. Totally un-Constitutional, but that didn't stop 221 republicans from voting for it.

Meanwhile, the website Goveexec.com has a nice "Government shutdown Countdown" ticker on the top of it's page. You can easily see how long before the government shutdown hits:

So I'm curious, when the Dems were mandating Health Care, were you saying that was un-Constitutional too?

hooray for the tea party

Let's get the point across and maybe the Senate, and it's leaders, will actually consider the bills already in the Senate OR come up with their own bill. They are not doing their jobs and should be held accountable for it.

I will be here on the 8th and beyond, pay or no pay, because that is what I am commissioned to do. I will do it happily knowing that our government and those that we voted into office are doing their job.

 What are you trying to prove?

2012 can't get here fast enough...

So was that a yes?

No.

A bill becomes law when BOTH bodies pass it, and the President signs it.

For the Health Care law, that took place.

For the spending bill H.R. 1255, that has not taken place.

No more on that issue here. That is a conversation for beltway.

The purpose of this thread is to note the count down to shut-down, as indicated above.

Well I'll tell you this, I'm growing tired of not having a bill signed. I have a jacked-budget & people who are depending on a bill. This is really screwing things up. This whole mess has created a bunch of extra work for everyone.

Looks like you are the one who posts politically HOT TOPICS and then plays it down with a Shutdown counter?

And just a jpg at that and no link? quit being an asshat, james.

Ok everyone, let's sing the infamous countdown song:

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer...

You are incapable of finding a website names govexec.com?

Don't deflect from the point. As a mod you should be setting the example. Instead you use every topic to spread your political hack against the republicans. Tom sees it and everybody else. Close the thread we have another g shutdown topic.

As I assumed would happen, many have been incapable of discussing this without bringing in strong political rhetoric. The Beltway Talk Forum was down and is going through some changes, but it is currently available for this discussion...

Beltway Talk Forum

If the negative rhetoric continues in new threads on TSP Talk (and if you read the recent posts you know what I'm talking about) I will start giving negative rep points, etc.

Thanks
