Since at least 8:25 cst Scottrade login has been temporarily unavailable and their local phone number is busy. Anybody got any constructive suggestions??

Of members who think market, especially S&P, may drop somewhat, any ideas on when this week might be the biggest drop. I need to sell when S&P is down. Thanks.

I am hoping the Market Holds Tomorrow and I am going 100% F Fund. I think Friday jobless rate might be over 5%. Predictions are for 4.9% but those figures were mixed last month with Gov. Jobs. Thoughts on this.

I am 50% C Fund & 50% S Fund and next week might be hell for the Markets again.:suspicious:

but...but....but...the FED says we're NOT in a recession!:eek::rolleyes:

Interesting too that prior claims were revised upward from 366K to 369K...just under that 370K "recessionary." Who are they trying to kid with these numbers? This recession is full blown and started in December. If the April numbers are higher bet they revise that 407K for March downward to compensate.

Key moment yesterday was Dr. Strangemath conceded that Recession was possible and that growth would be flat to nothing. Can ya feel the pressure Ben?

Why don't we refer to our unemployed as a percentage of employed rather than a fixed number of unemployment claims as a standard in comparing current recession with prior recessions? Isn't our population increasing every year? So in previous recessions 375,000 unemployed should have been a higher % of unemployed, than 375,000 unemployed today. Also how does Labor Dept. adjust for illegal immigrants employed? How many employers would even report illegal employees? If illegals are not counted, then isn't our unemployment rate even lower than reported?

Clearly, the above this is not TA, which I associate with my school boy years humor. Then when we got to distance, rate and time problems, I thought we were using Einstein's theory. I might be missing something in the above and if that is the case, please try to draw it in pictures rather than using formulas.

Jobs Claims, Credit Delinquents Worst In Years
Maurna Desmond and Miriam Marcus, 04.03.08, 7:00 PM ET

The general sense that America’s economy is slowing looks even more prescient after the United States Labor Department reported an unexpected hike in jobless claims Thursday. In addition, the American Bankers Association concurred, as it announced the highest levels of consumer delinquency since 1992.
On Thursday, the Labor Department reported that last week's initial U.S. jobless claims were the highest since September 2005, jumping to 407,000 from last week's revised 369,000. Continuing claims were 2.94 million, up from 2.86 million. Economists polled by Reuters had anticipated initial jobless claims to increase to 370,000 in the week ending March 29. The news comes on the eve of Friday's March employment data, the first government economic report for the month.

Show,
Please excuse my invasion of your thread for a request that I have to make to all my friends in the message boards at TSPtalk. I am making this appeal here because you are highly respected and your thread is widely read.

Some good friends with whom I have corresponded with through the years have tried to help me, but they have their own problems and their own limitations. I always have been a very discreet and very private person, but the circumstances that are weighing on me have dictated that I open up a bit of my personal life in order to seek wider advise from other colleagues here at TSPtalk.com.

I would have thought that certain events should be treated with flexibility, and that a supervisor at TSP.gov should be able to use some discretion in order to deal with exceptional problems with a sense of fairness and understanding. We shall see!

My problem below is self-explanatory. I need your good minds to help. Thank you in advance all!

To all members at TSPtalk:

Please treat this as a true personal emergency. I am asking for your help urgently. Since you have helped me in the past, I trust that you might help me find a solution to this problem.

In January 2008, I had to face some debts and other personal financial obligations. At that time I was in confusion, and it was all quite hectic. Due to the fact that my maximum loan amount was capped at around 40,000, and I needed in excess of $100,000, in the stressful confusion, I decided to do what I believed was the correct thing to do. I took $125,000 dollars, knowing that they would retain 20% witholding for tax purposes. I received the $100,000 dollars and was able to meet all of my existing obligations. My wife and I were able to breathe normally after I cleared the debts.

It was never my intention to preclude myself from using the provisions of an aged-based roll-over IRA after age 59 1/2. I sincerely believed (and still believed until today) when I called the TSP toll-free number at (877) 968-3778 that the witholding penalty withdrawal was different and separate action which was governed by different regulatory provisions. In my predicament and stress in January, it never occurred to me that TSP thrift would prevent me from doing a roll-over IRA. Today, a representative by the name of Kimberly told me that the application that I filed for a roll-over IRA on March 19, 2008, is being denied for the reasons I just explained above.

In my good faith I opened an account at the Orlando, Florida branch. It was from that office that the manager faxed the application with their help and with the required information. I have been very excited and looking for the transfer and to manage my IRA.

This morning (yesterday) I asked Ms. Kimberly at TSP to let me talk to a supervisor, but she left me waiting a long time until she finaly told me that a supervisor would call me in up to 48 hours. Please help me reach someone that may be understanding of my true intention under stress. Your suggestions are highly valued!

Jobs down -80K expected -50K. Unemployment 5.1%. Also, JAN and FEB jobs numbers revised DOWN over 60K. RALLY TIME.

Dow futures were up 100 point just prior to the numbers and sold of to flat.

All of the cheerleaders on CNBC were pumping the number and they got spanked.

ADP jobs numbers are a freak'n joke!
