L2R for President ! ;)
L2R's gonna be on the ballot? That makes 4!

Seriously. Barr being on the ballot makes him a viable choice IMO. I don't see any other 3rd party getting their candidate on the ballot.

The way I look at it we still have a 2 party system. The Republicrats and the Libertarians.

Threadjack over.

Interesting read....some excerpts:

How SEC Regulatory Exemptions Helped Lead to Collapse

As we learn this morning via Julie Satow of the NY Sun, special exemptions from the SEC are in large part responsible for the huge build up in financial sector leverage over the past 4 years -- as well as the massive current unwind.

Satow interviews the above quoted former SEC director, and he spits out the blunt truth: The current excess leverage now unwinding was the result of a purposeful SEC exemption given to five firms.

You read that right -- the events of the past year are not a mere accident, but are the results of a conscious and willful SEC decision to allow these firms to legally violate existing net capital rules that, in the past 30 years, had limited broker dealers debt-to-net capital ratio to 12-to-1.

Instead, the 2004 exemption -- given only to 5 firms -- allowed them to lever up 30 and even 40 to 1.

Who were the five that received this special exemption? You won't be surprised to learn that they were Goldman, Merrill, Lehman, Bear Stearns, and Morgan Stanley.

Robo, Lady, and everyone else,

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Interesting thing happened this time. The suggested a local anesthetic instead of totally putting me out. I was all for it as I struggle with nausea and drowsiness when they total put me out. Work like a champ, I woke up and was out the door in like fifteen minutes. It was amazing how well I recovered and how much sooner I was out the door.

No real pain right now. The surgeon, who is my hero, said it was a lymph node and it looks very suspect to him. If it is that is good because that is one we knocked out before it could do any real damage.

The key to my disease is to stay a step ahead of it and there is no cure.

I'm ready to make some money. Nice to see the big pop on UYG. I use to be bothered by not pulling every dime out of a trade. I now don't have that feeling as much. Yea, UYG popped another 12%, but I gained 7.5% on a in and out trade and I limited my risk to the market to zero while I was off the grid.

I have a friend at work that is setting up a B&H Roth for his wife and we discussed options that were not trading strategies. ETF's are the way to go IMO. You can mix and match sectors or markets while spreading risk over a large number of companies.

Trading stocks is one thing, trading ETF's is another, and B&Hing is another. Each has a different level of risk and reward. All still require massive research, chart analysis, and different levels of monitoring. This is a lot of work unless you enjoy is as much as I do. Point is you must be committed to the work and have the stomach for the risk.

My most valuable trading lesson this year was the trade of SLV. I have a personal love of the physical metal and could not bring myself to sell it even though every rule of trading told me to dump and wait for the better trade. I did finally dump it at a huge loss and have started my come back. I won't own it again as I am too emotional about it.

Repeat after me, "this is a traders market" and the volatility is extreme with the freak'n government monkeying with everything. The more the government intervene with the market the longer the market takes to properly recover.

This is a trader's market!!!

That's too bad about SLV, I was going to ask you what your next re-entry point might be?

I was kicking myself for not getting into UYG around 15 today, with it closing above 19.

Then I was reminded of what you are going through.

Money is sooooo unimportant at a time like this.

Sorry that you are having to go through this. Thanks for the reality jolt!

I would agree, making it at a time like this is not as important as preserving capital. Once you heal get back to business because it is fun and you can improve your families security.

If I had access to the market action today I would have tried to buy some of that back at 15. Good price.

Now is the time to make money I'm out of IFT's and waiting for funds to settle. I need more money to trade with. Any takers? LOL

The rally in UK is unbelievable and our futures are up to 1257 S&P. My entry point was 1236 so I'm nervous and happy.

Would it not been nice to be able to trade in and out of this market with TSP.

I have one position in KOL and I will watch it and sell it if it exceeds 10% gain.

Great News Show-me,

I'm so happy to hear that. Stay on top of it.
