Should you transfer to the I fund?

Another question that I have is can I use "ishares MSCI EAFE Index (EFA)" to use as a tool to track the "EAFE" component for the I fund? If I go to the Yahoo Financials site and type in "EFA" it brings up the index and is very quick and simple to use. Any thoughts from the members of this board?

And once again I do appreciate all comments that you have shared with me and do learn allot on this site :)

The EFA is about as good as we have to track the I-fund during the day. It won't always match the I-fund because of fair value and some timing issues.

At the end of the day, you can go to:
Additional Terms of Use - Legal - MSCI

(click on the "agree" at the bottom of the page to see that data)

That will show how the EAFE did in local currency and dollars. The I-fund "should" be close to the dollar figure. But again, not always because of fair value adjustments.

Thanks again, So the EAFE is used to track US currency and the EFA international markets? And the I fund is a component (or shadows) of both?

I exited the I fund last friday (6-6-13) and decided to go 100% S-Fund. The overseas markets seemed to go up early monday so we will see how the I-Fund responds this week .

Sorry I missed this post...

The EAFE is traded in various currencies and the I-fund price is generally determined by the outcome of the EAFE in dollars.

Lets see: Monday's close showed I-fund up .43% or .0958 cents, S-fund up .24% or .0693 cents. The market was down tuesday due to negative news from Bank of Japan causing the Nikkie to drop, EFA showed 59.67 (-.69 cents) about a half hour before close. What does this mean??? I-fund should be lower by ???

Looks like they are having a tough time coming up with a price for the I-fund today. They are late in reporting.

forgot to answer the question....yes you should...check back with the market in 10 years...i'm going to try for 20 years...it will save you lots of stress and prolong your life enabling you to keep on dca'in

I'm starting to see some action in the I-Fund price over the last week. Thinking about doing an inter-fund transfer going from 100% S to 50% each S and I. Any thoughts from any of the esteemed members of this board?

Don't do it - the I fund has only limited space available. pun intended of course

Well I decided that I would make a bold financial move that would make sense and hopefully pay off in the end. Using all of my market know how and expertise in timing the markets.....I decided to do nothing. :D
